Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast, we will drive up to the gates of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We will descend into the crater, where you will be able to see a great number of animals living within the crater. You can expect to see lions, buffalos, zebras, hyenas, and antelopes; if it is our lucky day, we can see the rhinoceros. After the game drive, we will proceed to Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.
The Ngorongoro Crater is the world's largest caldera which was formed after the explosion of a volcano some 2 to 3 million years ago. The crater floor is 1800 meters (5900 feet) above sea level and hosts around 30 000 animals and a great variety of birds.
