Amboseli National Park
Amboseli National Park
We leave early for an exciting game drive and superb views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds cover the summit. Amboseli is a great location to see a wide variety of species, including wildebeest, giraffes, and baboons. We arrive at our lodge around midday for lunch, a siesta, and a late-afternoon game run. Nearly every view in the park, in addition to the elephant, antelope, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, and elusive leopard, is framed by the spectacular Mount Kilimanjaro in the background. Day 3
Amboseli to Lake Naivasha
Amboseli to Lake Naivasha
Take a drive to Lake Naivasha in the morning. Of all the lakes in the Rif Valley, it is both the highest and most stunning. At 1910m (6200f), the lake is surrounded by lush papyrus clumps and the water is fresh (ancient Egyptians once used this to make paper). Herons hide in the papyrus while scavenging for food, and kingfishers use it as a perch.
Another famous location for bird watching is Naivasha (over 400species have been recorded). Residents of Nairobi frequently escape here on the weekends to sail, water ski, and fish. Because of the altitude, there are many hippos rather than crocodiles in the lake because the water is too cold for them.
Arriving in time for lunch, afternoon one hour boat ride and a visit to the crescent island for a walking safari. Dinner and overnight stay at Crescent Camp.

Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara National Park
Head to the Masai Mara National Reserve first thing in the morning. Arrive in time for lunch, then go on a game drive in the late afternoon. One of the only locations on earth where wildlife continues to coexists in the same abundance as when it formerly roamed the African plains and woods is the Mara. The stunning seasonal migration of numerous thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and accompanying predators takes place in the Mara, which serves as the northernmost point of the huge Serengeti ecosystem. Dinner and overnight stay at Aa Lodge Mara.

Day 5
Masai Mara National Reserve
Masai Mara National Reserve
We'll go on a full-day game drive with a packed lunch after breakfast. One of the few areas where it's feasible to view the Big Five during a morning game drive, the reserve is well recognized for its black-manned lions, as well as its abundance of resident animals.
Numerous cheetahs are so docile that they would seek cover from the blazing sun under a person's car, and some will even climb onto the roof to obtain a better view of potential prey. Nearly 500 species of birds have been identified, including 9 species of sunbirds, 6 species of vultures, 8 species of storks, 16 species of eagles (including the kori bustard, the largest flying bird in the world), several hawks and falcons, 16 species of vultures, and 16 species of eagles. Dinner and overnight stay Aa Lodge Mara.
