Day 2

Flying to Diego

Diego Suarez, also known as Antsiranana, is a vibrant coastal city located in the far north of Madagascar. It offers a unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. After landing and check-in at your hotel, embark on boat excursions to discover the hidden gems of the Emerald Sea. The Emerald Sea is a coastline renowned for its pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters and diverse marine life. Equipped with masks and snorkels, you can discover the local aquatic fauna and observe shells and multicolored fish. You will then rest while your crew prepares a delicious lunch of coconut rice and grilled fish caught during the crossing on the beach. At the end of the afternoon, the boat brings us back to the beach of Ramena, a smile on our face and an agreeable night at your hotel.

Day 3

From coast to mountain (30 km)

From coast to mountain (30 km)

Today, we will visit the Amber Mountain National Park after traveling from Diego. It is a heaven on earth for nature lovers. This dense humid forest contains a very high rate of endemism including thousand species of precious wood (Dalbergia chlorocarpa and Canarium madagascariensis) and several species of lemurs, boas, and butterflies. If you are lucky, you may see the brookesia tuberculate (the smallest chameleon in the world) which is the size of a thimble. Its authenticity makes Amber Mountain a real melting pot of biological diversities grouped in a small area of relatively easy access. The icing on the cake would be the discovery of the magnificent waterfall after being dazzled by the nature along the way. Then, we join the hotel for a relaxant night.

Day 4

Discovering the Red Tsingy (109 km)

Discovering the Red Tsingy (109 km)

After breakfast, we drive to Ankarana. On the way, you will have the opportunity to admire the sharp ochre-colored peaks also known as “Red Tsingy”. Born from erosion, the Tsingy of Madagascar is formation of fossilized shells. The mixture of different oxides and the passing of time have given birth to these so singular fireplaces. You will be able to admire in a spectacular setting of an immensity that sends us back to a forgotten era: the Jurassic. You will discover the Red Tsingy through the savannah crossing and descent on a part of the Analamerana Park near the village of Irodo. Then, take the first small stop in the viewpoint on the surroundings and go down slowly to discover gradually all the site. We will leave the car and walk a few minutes to see the Tsingy in front of you. Do not forget to bring your camera to enjoy this gift of nature. After the visit, we continue the trip to join the village of Ankarana.
