Day 1

Transfer To Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Transfer To Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will be picked up by our safari guide from your hotel in Kigali if you arrive a day before your tour, or from Kigali International Airport if you arrive in the very early morning hours. You will then enjoy a scenic transfer through Musanze and Kyanika border to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in Southwestern Uganda, where you will be spending two nights. The journey to the Rushaga area of Bwindi will offer stunning views of Lake Mutanda and the terraced hills of Kisoro. Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge for an overnight stay.

Day 2

First Gorilla Habituation Experience

First Gorilla Habituation Experience

After enjoying an early morning breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for registration and attend the gorilla habituation briefing. Following the briefing, you will trek through the tropical rainforest of Bwindi with your ranger guides to locate the gorillas. The trek can take anywhere from one to several hours.

You will have the opportunity to spot various wildlife species, including birds and trees, which will add excitement to the trek. The up-close encounter with the family of mountain gorillas will be the highlight of the day's activity. You will spend up to four hours near the mountain gorilla family, along with a team of researchers, as they train these gentle beasts to get used to human presence. Finally, you will visit one of the local communities to immerse yourself in their stunning culture before returning to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 3

Mountain Gorilla Habituation

Mountain Gorilla Habituation

Start your day with a delicious breakfast and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime! Join fellow nature enthusiasts at the Park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla habituation, and get ready to again trek through the lush tropical rainforest of Bwindi to find the majestic mountain gorillas.

As you traverse the forest, your knowledgeable ranger guide will point out various bird and tree species, making your trek even more enjoyable and informative. The trek itself can take anywhere from one to several hours of the day, but the reward of a 4-hour encounter with these endangered creatures in their natural habitat is worth every second.

By participating in gorilla habituation, you will not only have an unforgettable experience but also significantly contribute to the conservation of these magnificent animals. Upon completion of the trek, you will receive a certificate as a memento of your participation.

Day 4

Transfer to Kigali

Transfer to Kigali

After completing the 4-day mountain gorilla habituation safari, you will be transferred to Kigali International Airport. The journey will take you through the scenic lush and mountainous route from Musanze to Kigali, where you will have an hour's visit to the Kigali genocide memorial before being dropped off at the airport.
