Day 1

Lake Manyara

Lake Manyara

Karibu!
Welcome to your 5 day Tanzania discovery tour. The first day of your adventure will start in Lake Manyaya National Park.
The day begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel to commence the beautiful journey across the Great Rift Valley where you will have a full day out on safari with a game drive.

With so much beautiful scenery for you to feast your eyes on, you are going to enjoy the ride to the park which houses a mosaic of vegetation habitats, which is why Lake Manyara is known for its high density of wildlife. With large heards of buffalo and antelopes to dense forests, the diverse landscape of the park lends itself to being a unique experience. We have also found that Lake Manyara is one of the best areas for elephants and birdlife due to the thick bush and forest areas - close encounters are very common.

After a day on safari, you will be driven to the Endoro Lodge, near Karatu, for a restful night.

Day 2

Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park

What would an authentic Tanzanian safari tour be without a trip to the Serengeti? After an early morning breakfast, we will depart towards The Serengeti National Park - known for its extraordinary wildlife population and diverse landscape.

The Serengeti National Park is located along the rift valley - abounding with geological formations. One of Serengeti’s defining features is the Kopjes (pronounced copy), a feature of continual weathering. These islands in the sea of grass are formed as the top soil comprising of rock and ash is eroded exposing the covered layer of metamorphic rock. These distinctive features make the viewing experience at The Serengeti something pretty remarkable, so this is what we try to explore after arriving at the park.

While exploring the Serengeti, we will stay at the Into Wild Africa Tented Camp right at the heart of it all. This immersive experience enables adventurers to truly experience the wild side of Tanzania.

Main Destination:
Serengeti National Park
Best Time To Visit January to February and June to October (Different areas are best at different times)

Day 3

Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park

As you wake up in the heart of the Serengeti National Park, you will have the advantage of having a full day to explore all the area has to offer. The national park itself covers an area of 14,800 square kilometres, and is home to over 3 million animals.

The landscape acts as a haven for the animals - particularly as the habitat provides ideal shelter from grass fires, predators and the heat. The game drives in this park are exceptional and game viewing is incomprehensible - offering the best opportunity to view Cheetahs, Leopards and Lions.

The Serengeti is also famous for the Great Migration. In terms of drama and sheer volume, this is the most amazing natural phenomenon you will ever see. Coming face to face with thousands of wildebeest and zebras on their epic annual trek is an experience like nothing else. Although nature is unpredictable, we can guide you to the locations where you are most likely to catch a glimpse of this extraordinary spectacle.

Day 4

Serengeti to Ngorongoro

Serengeti to Ngorongoro

On your second and final day at The Serengeti, we suggest an early wake-up call in order to do a morning game drive (when the animals are more active as they prowl the park before the heat of the day rises.
), and see one of the best sunrises you'll ever witness.

After your morning safari we will then commence the drive to The Ngorongoro Conservation Area - best known for its archaeological and geological significance, rich wildlife, and beautiful scenery. The conservation area encompasses the famous Crater, the renowned Olduvai Gorge and vast plains of grasslands, forests and mountains extending to the Serengeti. This 8000-square-kilometre protected area is recognised for its natural beauty and has been placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, in addition to being voted as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa.

By evening, we will have settled at the Karatu Simba Lodge for a good night's sleep ahead of our day at The Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 5

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater

On the fifth and final day of the tour, after breakfast, we will depart from the campsite and descend to the Ngorongoro Crater floor for a 5-hour game viewing - the perfect opportunity to be in amongst it all with space to explore.

Ngorongoro is a unique crater known as a Caldera (a Caldera being the aftereffect of a volcanic collapse - an implosion as opposed to an explosion). Formed some two million years ago, The Ngorongoro ecologically covers an extensive area of varied terrain and altitudes. These variations result in diverse and distinct habitats (from grassy plains to montane forests) for the extraordinary range of wildlife that makes a home there.

Apart from being home to 25000 large animals, it forms part of what is known as the Serengeti-Ngorongoro-Maasai Mara ecosystem. This ecosystem allows for the free movement of 1.5 million animals in their continuous search for green pastures.

As the tour ends we hope you have had an enjoyable and adventurous trip.
