Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha
After breakfast, we’ll make our way to the Ngorongoro Crater. This UNESCO World Heritage site was formed millions of years ago by the massive explosion of a volcano that was once higher than Kilimanjaro. The crater, 610 meters deep and covering roughly 265 square kilometers, offers the best game viewing due to its dense animal population of approximately 25,000 ungulates.
We will arrive at the crater rim before lunch and be greeted by the spectacular landscape that spreads out before our eyes, storing memories both in our minds and on our memory cards. After descending the bumpy, winding track that brings us onto the crater floor, we’ll quickly spot wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, elephant, and perhaps even the elusive black rhino grazing in the grass. After lunch and a full afternoon of exploration inside the crater, we’ll head back to Arusha for an overnight stay or drive you to Kilimanjaro airport.
