Day 2
City tours +Transfer to Akagera National Park

Wake up to your breakfast at the hotel, check out and start the day with a short city tour, visit to the Genocide memorial center, then embark on a drive to transfer to Akagera National Park Home of Big 5- Game Drive. On the way enjoy Landscapes and the hills of Rwanda, en route game drive, expect to see some animals such as elephants, Giraffes, lions, buffaloes etc check in, order your lunch at the lodge, relax. Afternoon, go for a sunset boat cruise where you are rewarded with several hippos and bird species on Lake Ihema. Retire and drive back to the lodge.

Akagera is also known as one of the most scenic savannahs in East Africa. After your breakfast, have your packed lunch boxes. You will visit the Giraffe area in the south and the lakes road up towards Birengero. Akagera National Park is home to elephant, Lions, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and antelope and many more. Have a stopover for packed lunch at the picnic area. Continue with a drive straight back to Kigali. Arrival at the hotel, relax with dinner.

Day 4
Transfer to Nyungwe National Park + Nyanza +Canopy walk

After your breakfast at your own hotel / residence, you will be picked up by our driver, you will start your tour with a drive to Nyungwe National Park, the home of Chimpanzee and Canopy Walk adventures plus other several primates’ species. The journey South West passes through the beautiful terraced hillsides that characterized much of Rwanda’s landscapes.
En route lunch (on your own) and visit to the King’s palace in Nyanza, learn about history of Rwanda, continue to enjoy the road trip as you proceed with the country side drive. Continue with an afternoon Canopy walk adventure in Nyungwe Park. Later check in at the lodge/hotel, enjoy property amenities, refresh and rest.

On this day you will enjoy an early breakfast at your lodge before embarking on a thrilling hike in search of chimpanzee communities. The Rwandan chimpanzee population is thought to consist of approx. 400-500 individuals, confined to the Nyungwe National Park, including a small community in the Cyamudongo Forest. Prepare to hear these excitable primates before you see them, as their pant-hoots travel through the deep forest. During your hike you may also spot migratory birdlife including the Ross’ turaco, grey-cheeked hornbill, red-breasted sparrow hawk and regal sunbird, later proceed with tea plantation experiences around the park. After these experiences, drive to the lodge, check out with lunch along the way and transfer to Musanze / Volcanoes National Park home of Gorillas, golden monkeys and hikes etc. Arrive with check in, refresh, relax with hotel amenities, later dinner.

On this day in the morning after breakfast, you will go to RDB Headquarters for briefing with a cup of Coffee or tea, you will join a group of tourists heading to the hike on the top of the Volcano where there is a beautiful crater lake. It takes 4 hours ascending and 2 hours descending. You will come back at the Hotel, order for your meals, the rest of the day at leisure. Full relaxation and reflect on the trip so far. Later have your dinners.

After breakfast you will proceed to the park headquarters to meet your guides for Golden Monkeys trekking, enjoy them play plus doing their daily activities, then after completing your experiences. Return to the base with Cultural experience at the Gorilla Guardians former Iby’iwacu cultural village, learn about Rwanda’s history and their ways of life. Return to the lodge, have lunch and check out. Embark on a 3-4 hours’ drive to Bwindi side via Cyanika border. Upon arrival get assisted with check in, evening at leisure. Full relaxation and enjoying lodge amenities.

Wake up early and take breakfast before heading for the briefing about gorilla trekking which takes place at the park office at 7:00 am. The head guide will peruse through the requirements and rules for gorilla trekking. Gorilla trekking is challenging but nothing beats the experience of finally observing a gorilla group. Always follow instructions from the guides, stay calm and avoid sudden movements as you take your photos. Once the one hour with the gorillas is done, you will head back to the starting point where you will find our driver waiting for you. The driver will take you back to the lodge for lunch and rest. Later in the afternoon, you will go and visit the Batwa pygmy community who live close to the park. They were relocated by the government after the forest reserve was turned into a park. The Batwa pygmies lived as hunters and gathers for thousands of years in the forest of Bwindi, Mgahinga, Virunga and Volcanoes National Park.

After breakfast at leisure, check out, drive as you transfer with the beautiful country sides and landscapes heading to Kigali. Lunch along the way on the 3-4 hours drive through Cyanika border, arrival at the hotel, get welcomed and assistance with check in, enjoy hotel amenities, have a swim, rest till dinner is served.
