Upon arrival at the MalaMala Airstrip, you will be collected and taken to the lodge in the private big 5 game reserve where guests are introduced to their ranger, who acts as host, guide, and educator.

The itinerary for the next two days is merely suggested to take advantage of the more comfortable temperature ranges and the enhanced game-viewing opportunities. It is also important to take time to relax and enjoy the camp surroundings, and to immerse oneself in the environment.

An afternoon/evening game drive awaits you after having a bit of a relaxing time at the lodge.
After an exhilirating afternoon open safari vehicle game drive and a beautiful sundowner drink in the bush, you slowly make your way back to the lodge where you have time to freshen up before enjoying a well-deserved catered 3 course meal.

Mala Mala Private Game Reserve

After your wake-up call by your ranger, meet on the safari deck as the sun rises over the bushveld for a quick hot and cold beverage and a light snack after which we'll head out on our early morning game drive.

After spotting some wildlife return to the camp where a hearty brunch awaits you. You can also join a bush walk after brunch if you feel like it.

In the afternoon, we'll meet again on the safari deck for hot and cold beverages and a light snack before departing on another unforgettable safari. A cooler box with the veritable sundowners is carried on the Land Rover, and a consensus among your fellow safari sites will determine whether a G & T is worth more than a leopard sighting!

As darkness approaches, your ranger will scan the bush and point out elusive nocturnal wildlife—a highlight of the day’s safari.

Upon returning to camp, we allow time to freshen up before meeting your friends and rangers for pre-dinner drinks in the safari bar after which dinner will be served.

Our last morning at Mala Mala Private Big 5 Game Reserve will be filled with a sense of awe and bittersweet farewell. As the early morning sun painted the sky in soft hues of orange and pink, we set out on our final game drive. Today we venture to areas we haven't yet explored in the hopes of seeing something special.

Our safari slowly comes to an end with a beautiful bushveld coffee stop topped up with a shot of our infamous Amarula Liquer after slowly making our way back the lodge for a substantial breakfast.
