Today, you will be driving to Tarangire National Park which may take approximately one hour until there. The park is roughly the size of Luxemburg and covers an area of about 2,850 km². Bush savannah, seasonal swamps, and giant baobab trees make up the landscape of this nature reserve and the park is probably one of the best places in East Africa to see elephants. From the open roof of the safari vehicle, you will be able to watch them and absorb the landscape. Apart from elephants, the park is also home to Masai giraffes, various gazelles, antelopes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, baboons, and more than 500 types of birds. After an extensive game drive, you will be driving to the Campsite at Mto Wa Mbu.

Tarangire National Park to Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast, you will make your way into the Ngorongoro Crater on a steep and narrow road. The slopes are forested but soon the landscape changes to savannah dotted with the occasional acacia tree. The wildlife here is breathtaking. If you are lucky you might spot the Big Five —lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard. The crater is also home to warthogs, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, hyenas, and many more. After a morning full of wildlife viewing and a picnic lunch, you will leave the crater in the afternoon and drive back to the camp for an overnight stay.
Some interesting facts about the crater, the Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest volcanic caldera, formed during the massive explosion of the volcano once higher than Kilimanjaro some 2 to 3 million years ago. The crater has a total area of 304 km², is 600 m deep, and has a diameter of 20 km.

Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha
This day will be taking you to the paradise of the primates and aquatic birds. Lake Manyara National Park offers breathtaking views and a large variety of habitats such as acacia woodlands and underground water forests. The park is very small but can support a large number of animal species and incredible birdlife. It has a large concentration of baboons, giraffes, elephants, and impalas and the lions here are known for their tree climbing. After a great wildlife viewing at Lake Manyara National Park, you will be driving to Arusha.
