2 travelers on Start dateArusha - Lake Manyara
You will be met by your driver-guide in Arusha or at the Arusha airport and together you will begin driving to Lake Manyara National Park to start your private game drive. Lake Manyara, an underrated gem among safari parks, offers an impressive number of birds that thrive on the water. From the park's main entrance, the road winds through an area of groundwater forests. On the grassy banks of the lake, wildebeest, giraffe, zebra, and buffalo can be seen grazing throughout the day. The mahogany and acacia trees are inhabited by the famous tree-climbing lions; with a bit of luck, you may see them lazing on a tree branch.
You will enjoy a packed lunch at midday. At the end of the afternoon, you will make your way to Africa Safari Karatu lodge. On arrival, you will have time to refresh before finishing the day with dinner under the stars. We hope you have a good night’s sleep in one of our comfy bungalow accommodations.

Today you have a rewarding drive ahead of you as you make your way from the Lake Manyara region through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and to Ndutu/South Serengeti. The road will take you through the Maasai homeland. The Maasai are the only people permitted to live in the conversation area. Traditionally nomadic, the Maasai are rich in culture and can often be seen herding their cattle in their brightly colored robes. They live in complete harmony with the earth, using their long-ingrained family knowledge of plant life as a means of survival. Along the drive, you will be able to spot giraffes, zebras, and other animals. Prepare to be amazed when you catch your first glimpse of the endless Serengeti plains. When you arrive at the Africa Safari South Serengeti camp, you will have already had your first taste of game driving in this unique area!

You’ll wake up to all the sounds of nature and, with a bit of luck, you may even see a group of elephants pass by your tent! After a delicious breakfast, today will be all about an impressive game drive where you will thoroughly explore the Ndutu area. In the first months of the year, the calving season of the Great Migration takes place here and more than 1.5 million wildebeest migrate in a huge loop every year. A true spectacle! In the other months, you are likely to encounter giraffes, elands, elephants, and hopefully some of the six big cat species that reside here. At the end of the day, you will return to Africa Safari South Serengeti for a delicious dinner and a good night's sleep.

Serengeti National Park
There is nothing like waking up from a restful sleep to the sounds of the Serengeti. Once you have enjoyed your breakfast, the acacia-covered savannah of the park welcomes you to explore the wildlife. You will drive towards the central Serengeti and Seronera area. The Seronera Valley with the Seronera River supports a far greater diversity of resident wildlife than anywhere else in the park, including elephants, buffalo, hippos, impala, reedbuck, waterbuck, and topi.
This is also the site of the Seronera airport, the visitor information center, a small museum, coffee shop, picnic area, and staff village. En route, you will encounter rock outcrops, also known as 'Kopjes', which are characteristic of the Serengeti landscape and popular with predators as vantage points. By the end of this day, you will probably understand where the Serengeti’s name (endless plains) comes from. In the late afternoon, you will return to Africa Safari South Serengeti camp.

Ngorongoro Crater
Be sure to wake up early today so there is no delay on your descent into the famous Ngorongoro Crater. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area will amaze you with its beauty, especially when you arrive at its edge and take in the amazing view. The crater of this inactive volcano is approximately three million years old, 20 square km in size, and the largest unbroken volcanic caldera in the world. The wildlife in the crater is spectacular due to its natural borders. It is home to the “Big Five” and offers a good chance to spot the rare black rhino. Throw hyena, zebra, buffalo, and elephants into the mix, and you have the perfect canvas for an awesome safari experience. At the end of the afternoon, you will make your way to the Africa Safari Karatu lodge for a well-deserved night’s sleep.
