Day 1

Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru National Park is a world-class bird-watching safari destination and is fondly referred to as the bird watcher’s paradise. The park has more than 25 black rhinos and around 70 white rhinos. There are also some Rothschild's giraffes, waterbuck, lions, cheetahs and leopards. The park is also a paradise for the lesser and greater flamingoes although the numbers are dwindling in recent years.

Main Destination:
Lake Nakuru National Park
Best Time To Visit June to February (Best for wildlife viewing; little rain)
High Season July to February (The park gets very busy)

Day 2

Masai Mara National Reserve

Masai Mara National Reserve

Masai Mara offers a unique variety of animals. The reason is that this hilly region is both humid and fertile and is crossed by the rivers Mara and Talek, full of crocodiles and hippos, which carry water the whole year round. The banks of the rivers are covered in thick forest, which gradually makes way for bush and grassland. The abundance of water and excellent food availability are why the Masai Mara, a continuance of the Tanzanian Serengeti National Park, has the greatest population of wild animals in Africa. There is a particularly dramatic “spectacle” from July to October, the annual migration of huge herds of gnus and zebras. Predators such as hyenas, jackals, leopards, and lions closely follow these herds. Gigantic herds of over 200 buffaloes can also be observed.

Main Destination:
Masai Mara National Reserve
Best Time To Visit June to October (For general wildlife viewing) and August to October (For wildebeest migration)
High Season June to October and December to March
Best Weather June to October (Sunny, but not too hot)

Day 3

Masai Mara National Reserve

Masai Mara National Reserve

On this day, you can go on a full-day game drive in the Mara with a picnic lunch or morning and afternoon game drives. Between the game drives, an optional visit (payments direct) to the local Maasai Village is conducted.

The trees in the distance might be a family of giraffes, those clumps of bushes a pride of lions, and the rock that moves, a rhino lumbering out of your way. With diligence and some luck, you may encounter a family of cheetahs or a herd of elephants crossing the path before you. Large animals are not the only entertainment - a family of warthogs may amuse you, running as fast as their little legs will carry them until they forget why they are rushing and stop to regroup.
