Kilimanjaro Materuni Cultural tour

Kilimanjaro Materuni Cultural tour

You will be picked up from your hotel and driven to Materuni village. Materuni is the home of the Chagga tribe and is still an authentic tribal village. This charming place is just 15 km away from Moshi town and is the last village before the Kilimanjaro National Park. Upon arrival, you will register at the village office and your trip can begin. First, you will visit the waterfalls. The views are truly breathtaking and with some luck, you will see the summit of Kilimanjaro. When you reach the waterfall, you will see that they are more than 80 meters high. The pool to the bottom of the waterfall is an inviting place for refreshing swims so don’t forget swimwear. After having enjoyed the scenery, you'll slowly return with your guide to Materuni village, where you will experience a traditional Chagga lunch. Before you say goodbye and return in the afternoon to Moshi, you can savour the coffee you made and appreciate the views of the surrounding rainforest.

Tarangire National Park

We will pick you up from your hotel at 7:30 am. After meeting the guide, you will proceed on a 2-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its diverse landscape. The park is particularly well-known for its abundance of ancient baobab trees and the largest concentration of elephants in the country. It provides unique opportunities to observe the interaction between elephant families. You will have a game drive through the park, depending on where there are reported sightings of animals. You will mostly follow predators (lions, cheetahs and leopards), as they are harder to spot than herbivores (giraffes, wildebeests and zebras).

You'll then head to the Tarangire River picnic site for lunch and enjoy the beautiful view of the river and animals. Small monkeys and baboons will try to scare you off your lunch, but this is nothing to worry about. After lunch, you'll continue with the game drive. You will exit the park at around 5:30 pm where you'll head to your accommodation.

Day 3

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater

The Ngorongoro Crater is the best wildlife park in Tanzania due to its beautiful landscape. Being in a crater makes it easier to see the wildlife. After an early breakfast at 6:00 am, you'll head to the Ngorongoro viewpoint and look at the amazing view. The surreal sight will take your breath away. You will then proceed to descend into the crater on a journey to find the black rhinos. Rhinos are the hardest to spot in this beautiful crater. Most animals will be easier to spot in this park due to it being a floor crater.

The Ngorongoro Crater is the highlight of the parks in Tanzania. It has the most beautiful scenery and it is populated with an abundance of animals. The crater itself is self-sustaining for the animals, so they don’t have to migrate out of the crater. After lunch, you'll have a game drive and ascend the crater, then transfer to your accommodation.

Upon your arrival in Manyara, you will be welcomed by the view of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment and the mischievous baboons at the entrance of Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara boasts a spectacular setting and is famous for its tree-climbing lions and soda-ash lake. Blessed with its forest habitat, it harbours elephants, giraffes, baboons, blue monkeys and bushbucks, to name a few. The park also provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife.
