You will be picked up from Dar es Salaam early morning (6:30 am) and drive to Mikumi National Park via Morogoro town. This drive will take up to 6 hours. You'll arrive for lunch in Mikumi National Park then continue with an afternoon game drive until sunset.

Mikumi was gazetted as a National Park in 1964 and is named after the spindle-shaped Borassus palm trees. The Mkata plain supports vast herds of plains game such as wildebeest, impala, zebra, and giraffe, hunted by their associated predators; while you are more likely to find elephants, buffalos, Lichtenstein’s hartebeest and greater kudu in the surrounding fertile hills.

After breakfast, you'll drive to Udzungwa Mountain National Park. On arrival, you will drive to the starting point of the famous Sanje trail. You will start trekking in this beautiful mountain enjoying and experiencing the stunning natural beauty of the park. After a picnic lunch in the view of Kilombero Valley, you'll get access to Sanje waterfall stunning 170m. You will spot different species of monkeys including endemic species of Sanje Crested Mangabey and Iringa Red Colobus Monkey. Today, you will get the chance to swim in one of the waterfall plunge pools, don't forget to take your swimming clothes.

Udzungwa Mountain National Park is one of Tanzania’s most outstanding, pristine, paradise, and unique exciting wilderness mountains forested with the greatest altitudinal range of forest. It is one of the thirty-four “World Biodiversity Hotspots” and one of 200 WWF Eco Regions of global critical importance. After trekking, you'll drive to the hotel for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you'll drive to Tungamalenga Village with a break in Iringa town for lunch.
On arrival in Tungamalenga village, you will drive straight to the Maasai Boma to set up your tents. After setting up the tents you will start a tour of this tribe where you will see their house, how they live, and their history. In the evening, you will participate in their traditional dance. You will sit in the fireplace before going to bed. At night, you will be under Maasai Morani security who will be around the Boma.

The Maasai of Tanzania still live a traditional lifestyle, grazing their cattle over vast areas, and living in semi-permanent villages (manyattas) of huts ringed by a thorn fence as defense against wild animals. Maasai men dress distinctively. The Maasai are one of the most culturally distinctive tribes in Africa, easily recognizable for their brilliant red blankets and colorful bead jewelers. These semi-nomadic people are warrior pastoralists and fighting skills.

Today, you will wake up early so you can join Maasai women and see how they milk the cow and how they can keep milk before they store the milk and stay fresh for a long time.

At 10:00 am, you will start driving for 20 minutes to Ruaha National Park for a game drive until sunset.
You'll arrive for game drives in the park. Hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, reedbucks, and buffalos venture to the river’s edge to drink, attracting the attention of lions, leopards, hyenas, wild dogs, and jackals. There are many birds in the park including Eurasia migrants that come to visit the park twice a year.

Full-Day Game Drive in Ruaha National Park

Full-Day Game Drive in Ruaha National Park

You'll wake up for morning breakfast then drive out for a full day game drive to explore the beauty of the park, which is full of rocky, kopjes, and ancient baobab trees. You will have the option of starting with an early morning game drive starting at 6:15 am until 8:30 am then drive back to the cottage for breakfast followed by a full day game drive.

A fine network of game-viewing roads follows the Great Ruaha River and its seasonal tributaries, where during the dry season impala, waterbuck and other antelopes risk their life for a sip of life-sustaining water. The risk is considerable not only from the pride of the 20-plus lions that lord over the savannah but also from the cheetahs that stalk the open grassland.

You'll wake up for an early breakfast then start driving to the exit gate with a game drive en route. After exiting the park, you will start driving to the Isimila Stone Age Site via Iringa town. This tour will take about two hours then drive to Mikumi for dinner and overnight.

The tour of the site begins at the little museum where a guide gives a brief introduction to the formation of the site and explains more about the fossils and tools that are displayed. The tour then continues into the canyon down a steep footpath. Once there the guide shows you some of the beds where the tools were found and explains how the rock towers were formed. The walk is very scenic, the earth has a warm reddish tint and it is also a good spot to see birds.
