Karibu!
Welcome to Tanzania. Your adventure begins with a morning departure for the Tarangire National Park – the sixth-largest national park in Tanzania. Here, you will have the opportunity to spend the afternoon spotting wildlife in a quieter location due to the lower count of visitors, but don't be fooled by the numbers because over 545 species of wild animals have been spotted at Tarangire National Park

Witness majestic herds of Elephants playing and bathing in the Tarangire River, and spot Giraffes, Buffalos, Gazelles, and Zebras in their natural habitat - an unforgettable sight that will replay in your mind's eye for a lifetime.

Your first night will be spent at The Tarangire Simba Lodge in the heart of Tarangire National Park. Some lucky guests have spotted these fantastic creatures from the windows of their bedrooms! This is an immersive experience not to be missed.

Day 2

Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park

Day Two kicks off with an early morning departure for Lake Manyara National Park. The majority of our guests have mentioned that the experience of travelling from one place to another is just as special as the itinarised stops - A quality that is unique to a safari tour like this.
Lake Manyara, also known as a hidden gem of Tanzania is an extraordinary location to see wild animals in principal view. Lake Manyara National Park is located at the base of the East African Rift Valley, parallel to the Gregory Rift. Subsequently, the park offers spectacular viewing of the escarpment; a magnificent sight to behold.

From swamps and the tranquil lake to the mountainous escarpment of the Great Rift Valley, there are a wealth of habitats to explore. Famous for tree-climbing lions and large herds of elephants (unafraid to greet the tourists), day two will satisfy many of your safari desires!

The adventure then continues onto Karatu for an overnight stay at Pembeni Rhotia.

Serengeti National Park

Day Three of your adventure begins with an early morning drive to one of Africa's most famous National Parks, the Serengeti. Home to 'The Big Five' and renowned for its staggering density of wildlife, the iconic Serengeti is a must for any classic Tanzanian safari.

Serengeti is a beautiful spot to witness the extraordinary scenes of the annual Great Wildlife Migration, where over two million wildebeest, zebra, and antelope migrate across legendary grasslands.
While, of course, safaris take place all over the world for various creatures, there is nothing like a Tanzanian safari, and we feel that this particular stop on our classic Tanzanian tour is a testament to that.

Following a magnificent afternoon safari, you will have dinner and settle in for the night at the Mara Under Canvas Tented Camp for a unique experience of sleeping right in the heart of Serengeti.

Day 4

Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater

Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater

The Serengeti is one of the most beautiful locations we are privileged to tour, so we like to ensure that our guests have enough capacity to experience it fully. Therefore, with so much still to see, the morning of day four offers an additional day in Serengeti where you will be going on a morning safari, where the temperatures remain milder - providing a slightly different wildlife experience.

The Serengeti is acclaimed for big cat sightings. As we drive through the landscape, you'll see cheetahs prowling the savannah and elusive leopards escaping the heat of the day in the acacia trees. Lions can also be spotted in the Serengeti; males with their one-of-a-kind manes and females often surrounded by cubs - they truly are the pride of Tanzania.

Next up, you will embark on a journey to the legendary Ngorongoro Crater. You will spend an unforgettable night at The Rhino Lodge which is situated on the top of the Ngorongoro Crater.

Ngorongoro Crater

Day five begins with breakfast at The Rhino Lodge, closely followed by departure to the Ngorongoro Crater; one of the world's seven natural wonders (sometimes known as “Africa’s Garden Of Eden”).

This remarkable site is home to a concentrated population of wildlife consisting of an estimated 30,000 animals (including The Big Five). Covering over 100 square miles of landscape (including wetlands, forest, and grasslands), this unique opportunity to experience the UNESCO-protected world heritage site is quite the adventure to end our classic safari - nothing can prepare you for the sights that you are about to see.
So many of our guests leave our tour with a heart for wildlife - regained or for the first time.

You will enjoy a full day of safari adventure in this phenomenal natural wonder, in addition to a lunch break by the hippopotamus lake, before commencing your drive back to Moshi. Rest assured, the Massawe Adventures team will ensure you are ready for your next adventure!
