Arrival and Afternoon Game Drive

Guests are picked up early in Johannesburg and driven to Pilanesberg Game Reserve. Arrive at aha Ivory Tree Game Lodge mid-day after exploring the game reserve for a few hours. Have a light lunch and relax before it’s time to depart for a late-afternoon game drive in the reserve. Game drives are in an open safari vehicle with a professional ranger. Return to the lodge as the sun is setting and enjoy a gourmet dinner at the restaurant.

Game Drives in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve

Wake up early for hot beverages and then depart for a 3-hour sunrise game drive in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve. Return for a hearty breakfast, pack up and be ready for collection between 11:00 - 11:30am for a closed vehicle (Minivan) game drive in the reserve. Depart mid-afternoon between 15:00-15:15 for the return journey to Johannesburg.

Morning Game Drive and Departure

Wake up early for hot beverages and rusks before it’s time to depart for a 2½ to 3-hour sunrise game drive in an open safari vehicle. Again, the exact length of the game drive depends on what you see and how long you stop at animal sightings.

At about 11h00, we leave the resort and head off into the bushveld in a closed tour vehicle for your last game drive in Pilanesberg. We stop mid-day for lunch and refreshments at Pilanesberg Centre (for your own account) and then leave the game reserve for the return journey to Johannesburg.

Expect to arrive back in the city between 17h30 and 18h30. Exact timing depends on where you need to be dropped off and late-afternoon traffic.
