Day 1

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport which caters to domestic flights, you will be met by a Colours Africa Tour and Safaris staff representative who will pick you up and take you on a safari adventure for a full game drive in Tarangire National Park. This national park is famous for its large population of elephants and its many baobab trees. You may also see giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests. These animals are closely followed by a range of predators, including lions and leopards. Here, you will find the second-highest concentration of wildlife in Tanzania, Serengeti being number one.

Later, after a packed lunch, you'll head to your accommodation for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay at Karatu Safari Camp Lodge.

Day 2

Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

After waking up, you will have a full breakfast, and pack your luggage in the safari jeep. Then, you will start to do an en-route game drive, with your lunch inside the jeep. On the way, you will be able to view the beautiful Rift Valley and Ngorongoro Crater before reaching Serengeti. The major attractions in Serengeti are the endless plains and the great wildebeest migration which involves herbivores and predators like lions and leopards. You'll also you'll get to see buffalos, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, impalas, and Grant’s gazelles. Our driver-guide will make sure you will able to see part of the wildebeest migration. You'll get lunch at Serengeti in the afternoon set up by your driver.

You will continue with a game drive in the park until late afternoon, while during the evening. You will have a sunset game drive in central Serengeti. Afterward, you will have dinner and an overnight stay at Robin Safari Camp.

After breakfast, you will have a full game drive at the central part of Serengeti. Serengeti National Park is undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world, unique for its natural beauty and scientific value. It has the greatest concentration of plains game in Africa. Serengeti National Park is home to the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth —the great migration of wildebeest and zebras.

You will spend the afternoon with a game drive in the central Serengeti. A majority of the wildebeest migration can normally be found on the short-grass plains from December to April. The area is usually heavily populated with elephants, zebras, lions, black rhinos, big cats, and the majority of species of birds. Your lunch will take place at an arranged place by a guide. A game drive will be on until the late afternoon.

Later, after the game drive, you will be transferred to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay at Robin Safari Camp.

Day 4

On this day, you will wake up early morning to have a full breakfast and see the sunrise inside Serengeti. You'll also have a packed lunch box in the jeep. Then, you will start your game drive in southern Serengeti where you can spot wildebeest migration, southern area is a beautiful savannah for calving sites. So you can spot the young wildebeest in the savannah area.

The great wildebeest migration varies every year the best chance of seeing it is from June up to September while the wildebeest calving is from January to March for July up to September. A million and a half of these majestic animals travel throughout the year as they look for fresh grazing pasture and follow the rainfall for better water sources. You will get a hot picnic lunch during the afternoon.

After your half-day game drive, you will transfer to Karatu Safari Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Wild Adventure in Ngorongoro Crater

Early in the morning, after breakfast you will start descending into the crater. This collapsed volcano is the main feature of the area and creates a unique ecosystem with a wide variety of vegetation. You'll enjoy the beautiful colors of the landscapes and the diversity of animals.

This is one of the best places to spot all of the Big Five. The views from the crater rim over the crater floor are incredible. Because of its natural beauty, the Ngorongoro Crater is chosen as one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders. You will be able to see wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, elephants, and some of the more than 500 bird species in the area. With a little bit of luck, you might catch a brief look at the endangered black rhino through the grass.

After lunch, you will ascend the steep walls of the crater and head to Karatu Safari Camp for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 6

After breakfast, you will leave the Karatu and transfer to Lake Natron. The scenery here is beautiful, especially the Ngarasero Escarpment, the waterfalls, the gorge, Oldonyo Lengai (a still active volcano), and the flamingos across the lake. Today you will go on a walk to the waterfalls. During the walk, you will cross the water at different times, at which point you can swim and refresh under the waterfalls. It is a terrific spot so you have to get a packed lunch around the waterfall while enjoying game viewing of different bird species found in the waterfall.

After walking the safari in Ngaresero waterfalls, you will arrive back at camp during the evening for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay at Africa Safari Lake Natron campsite.

Day 7

You'll wake up early in the morning today and wait for the sun to rise on the lake. Make sure you walk around and see the flamingos.
After breakfast, you will walk to hominid footprints within the concession area with your guide. New research has now confirmed these track-ways to be 120,000 years old, making them the oldest Homo sapiens track-ways yet discovered. During the afternoon, you will get a hot lunch. Then, safari walking will continue where around this time you will do flamingo walks. The beguiling lesser flamingo feeds on algae found in soda lakes across eastern Africa but chooses to breed almost exclusively at Lake Natron.

After the game view, you will leave the lake and drive to Africa Safari Lake Natron, arriving in time for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will still have a chance to explore Lake Natron before departing and you will be on your way to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your reserved accommodation in which you will have dinner and an overnight stay at FQ Hotel in Dar es Salaam.

Today you will wake up early in the morning after having a full breakfast our representative pick up you from your accommodation and head to Mafia Island. On this day, a town tour will be done where you can see what Mafia Island looks like and then your driver drive you to your accommodation for check-in.

Later afternoon, you will take your bicycle ready to ride to Mafia Beach for relaxation. After enjoying your time, you will be back at your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Today after breakfast, you'll depart from the lodge for the trip to see the whale sharks! These beautiful giants are seasonally found just a few hundred meters offshore near Kilindoni Harbour. A short boat ride toward the west brings us to a feeding ground for the sharks and soon fins and dark shapes are apparent.
Up to 24 can be seen at a time; males, females, and juveniles, all beautifully marked with stripes and spots. The larger sharks are estimated at over 14m long, so they are an impressive sight next to the boat, and quite stunning under the water. The boat can move among them quietly and you can swim and snorkel to get a closer, underwater view of these gentle, wonderful animals.

After lunch, you will be transferred to Chole Island. It is a great place to meet with the locals and the right place to discover more about the slave trade market as well as sunset sailing.

Later, you'll have lunch on the sandbank before heading back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

This very attraction is Mafia Islands best kept secret. You'll swim in a pool filled with hundreds of turned jellyfish and absorb the impossibly blue waters. You can also enjoy the boat ride to and from the lake, meanwhile looking out for monkeys within the trees and beautiful attractions on Mafia Island. After the trip, you will be transferred to your accommodation for lunch.

Later in the afternoon after lunch, you will say goodbye to Mafia Island and departure back home.
