Arusha to Lake Manyara
An early breakfast will be served at the lodge. We make a short drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Manyara, a relatively small but diverse park 120km west of Arusha, is named for the shallow salt lake that occupies a good 70 percent of the park's land. Flooding and drying seasonally, this soda lake is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species. On our exploration of the park, we will see monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalos, elephants, and with some luck, lions lounging on trees. The park is known for its diverse landscapes; not only open, grassy plains but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab-dotted cliffs. At the end of the day, we go to Karatu where you overnight at Farm of Dreams Lodge.

Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast, you will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, and ever-elusive leopards, which sometimes require a trained eye to spot. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos, and other water birds can usually be seen here. Late in the afternoon, drive back to Arusha.
