Your adventure trip starts today. We drive to the docking are at Nakiwogo, where you will meet a local guide that will transfer with you to the swamp for the shoebill search. Your guide will meet you there as he will go by road. After, you transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. It’s a scenic ride to Lake Mburo National Park with a stop at the Equator. The park is a gem with a number of grazers but less in the big 5 count. It is covered with extensive acacia woodlands, this park is one of the best places in the country to enjoy a walking safari and see the giant eland antelope, zebras and leopards. You will do an evening game walk the park.

Game walk and to Bwindi Impenetrable national Park
Drive: 266 Km | 6 hours
Lake Mburo is Uganda’s smallest savanna park but a gem that can be explored uniquely. We leave it behind for Bwindi Forest. The drive is about 6 hours and we arrive in the late afternoon and check in at our lodge, have lunch and prepare for the walk to Muyanga Falls. It starts from Buhoma along the River Ivi-Nkuringo trail. It climaxes at refreshing powerful waterfall that cascades over a 33 meter high slope. At its floor, you will find lots of ponds with crystal clear water where you can have a refreshing swim. Return to the lodge for overnight.

Gorilla tracking + Optional Batwa Community tour
The Forest is a home to the worldly admired giant endangered mountain Gorillas accommodating over 400 individuals which is half of the world’s population. Gorilla tracking officially started in October 1993 with Mubare as the first habituated group in Buhoma sector. Gorilla Tracking can now be done in 5 different places after fully habituating more groups Buhoma alone has 5 different Gorilla Families available for tracking daily. Your guide will transfer you to park offices for gorilla tracking. Get the Briefing and go into the forest with your guide/ranger. Return and if its early, do a community tour to the Batwa. The Batwa are a community of former forest dwellers.

Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. From green rainforest to open savanna. The vastness on the fringes of Lake Edward, it is little wonder that Queen Elizabeth boasts one of the highest biodiversity rates of any game park and the sector is famous for the tree climbing lions. Check prepare for an afternoon game drive in search of these lions.

Head north to Kyambura (Night Game drive)
Drive: 95km | 2hours, 30 minutes
In case you missed the tree climbing lions, the morning is another chance to try the search again. We shall after drive to the northern part of the park, where we shall check at our lodge and after prepare for the evening game drive. Lunch and relaxation at the lodge. This will be an extended one that has an option for night game drive.

Morning game drive and Kazinga Channel boat safari
Queen Elizabeth National Park is considered to be one of Uganda’s most varied and most beautiful protected areas. Queen, as she is affectionately known, is home to two of Africa’s big cats, the majestic lion and the elusive leopard. After breakfast, we head to the Kasenyi plains for a game drive. Return to the lodge, have an early lunch and head for the boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. It is a stretch of water joining Lakes Albert and George. The channel is a famous spot at QENP and home to hippos, crocodiles, buffalo and beautiful bird species endemic to the region. After we return to the lodge for an overnight.

Kyambura Gorge walk and crater drive
We have breakfast and head to the fig tree camp for the Kyambura Gorge walk. The Kyambura gorge is on the eastern side of the park, 16km and 100m deep. After the briefing, we shall be led by the ranger guide into the gorge. Return and have an early lunch and head to the Katwe Salt Lake and the craters from Katwe-Kabatooro gate to the Queen Pavilion. Salt mining has been taking place at the lake for thousands of years, we shall visit the lake, learn about the community that does the mining, and later drive through the other craters.

To Kibale Forest (Fort crater tour)
Drive: 210km |3+ Hours
Today, we check out at 9am after our breakfast and head for Fort Portal arriving in the early afternoon. We shall have lunch and take a drive to Nyakasura before we check in at our lodge. We shall have a tour to the Amabeere ga Nyina Mwiru, hike the hills to the views of crater lakes, visit the palace of King Oyo (The youngest Monarch) and the Karambi Royal Tombs. Later we drive to our lodge for check, dinner and overnight.

Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi swamp walk
Destination: Kibale Forest
Kibale forest is a tropical rainforest, home to 13 primate species and an impressive bird list. The primates include the chimpanzees and that’s what the park is famous for. We shall today after our breakfast head to the park office for briefing and set off for tracking. Chimpanzee trekking is a half-day activity starting either early in the morning or just after lunch. We shall do the morning session and after we go for the Bigodi Swamp Walk in the afternoon.

Kibale to Kampala and Entebbe

Today we have breakfast and leave Kibale for Kampala. We shall drive through the local towns, and the different landscapes to Kampala. Have an afternoon to tour around Kampala. Visit the Old Kampala Mosque and the King’s palace at Mengo before we head to Entebbe for an overnight.

Behind the scenes at UWEC and exit
Today, we have breakfast at the guest house and go to the Uganda Wildlife education center for the behind-the-scenes activity. The two-hour educative adventure that offers special inside look tours and interesting information about how we take care of our residents (animals and birds). You will have a close up and personal encounter with the lions, elephants plus many more wonders you have perhaps never imagined meeting.
