Track Gorillas and Visit the Musanze Caves
Gorilla day! Today your gorilla experience will begin in the morning after a hearty breakfast. Your driver will take you to the park headquarters where you will meet the park ranger-guide who will first take you through a briefing about the dos and don'ts while trekking. He will then lead you to the forest to trek the endangered mountain gorillas.
The trekking lasts from an hour to 6 hours, depending on where the gorilla family will be spotted because they keep moving to look for food. The trek isn’t a boring one, not because the focus is on gorillas that you walk straight to them. There is a lot the forest has to offer from birds, plants, insects and other mammals at the park before you meet the gorillas. An hour is allowed to watch and photograph before you leave the family alone. After the trek return to the lodge and after in the afternoon, visit the Musanze caves.
