Day 1

Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park

You will be picked up by your professional tour guide/driver in Arusha town, who will deliver a short safari info (briefing), after which, you will travel to the Lake Manyara National Park. You will arrive in time for lunch at the park. After lunch, you will proceed with the game drive.

This impressive park is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park) at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. The park’s varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos attracted by the algae in the lake.

Your dinner and overnight stay will be as per the standard and type of accommodation option requested.

Lake Manyara - Serengeti National Park

Today you will wake up for an early breakfast in your accommodation. Later, you will depart with your lunch heading to Serengeti National Park, the famous park with its vast open grasslands that allow excellent sightings of wildlife.
The climate and vegetation here remained largely untouched for millions of years.

Although the Serengeti boasts rich wildlife, it is perhaps well known for the annual Great Migration where vast numbers of wildebeest; accompanied by large numbers of zebra and antelope move in an annual pattern, constantly seeking fresh grazing. The timing of the migration is entirely dependent upon the rainfall patterns each year. After an extensive game drive, you will head for your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater

This is another dedicated day for the final time drive in Central Serengeti National Park, a well-known place for wildlife sanctuary in the world and the heart of Serengeti. This part is the richest for wildlife habitats including the so-called Big Five, elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard, and black rhinos. For bird lovers over 500 bird species have been recorded here including vultures, owls, bustards, cranes, and secretary birds.

Later, after lunch, you will depart to Ngorongoro Highlands for a sunset walk on the crater rim with an armed ranger. This a great chance to watch out for any number of forest birds including sunbirds, cinnamon-chested bee-eaters, other wildlife, and indigenous plants. You can come across animals like giraffes, zebras, and elephants (the reason why you are with an armed ranger, do not worry).

After a wonderful experience, you will proceed to your accommodation for an overnight stay.

Ngorongoro Crater - Transfer to Arusha

After breakfast, you will proceed with the game drive toward Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s natural wonders. Ngorongoro is thought to have been formed about 2.5 million years ago from a large active volcano that collapsed inward after a major eruption, leaving the present vast, unbroken caldera as its chief remnant. The cohabitation of man and animal makes Ngorongoro unique in Tanzania. Your experienced driver guide will explain more about this incredible life. The crater floor water supports a resident population of more than 25000 large animals including elephants, lions, leopards, hyenas, jackals, wallowing hippos, waterbucks, and baboons. If lucky you can also spot the rare black rhinos. Later, you will ascend from the crater and drive back to Arusha.

This will mark the end of your 4-day safari with Destiny Explorers. You will be dropped off in Arusha.
