2 travelers on Start dateLake Manyara National Park
After an early breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel at 7:00am and drive to Lake Manyara, where you will arrive by lunchtime. After enjoying a packed lunch, you will go on an afternoon game drive. Lake Manyara is a beautiful park known for its baboons, excellent elephant sightings, and tree-climbing lions.
The park has a variety of habitats. Rivers flowing off the escarpment and perennial springs below the rift wall support tall, evergreen groundwater forests dominated by trichilia roka with broad-leaved croton (Croton Macrostachyus), sycamore fig (Ficus sycomorus), quinine tree (Rauvolfia caffra) and forest toad-trees. Trees are densest in gorges, along the edge of streams and in areas where springs emerge. Dense stands of yellow fever trees (Acacia xanthophloea) grow at the edge of the groundwater forest. The park's flora is diverse, with over 670 flowering plant and fern species documented. Most are widespread, however, there are a few rare or endemic species.

Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast and packed picnic lunch boxes, we will head out for a full day game drive on the crater floor. Ngorongoro Crater is an area where people can see the annual wildebeest migration, one of the wonders of the natural world (along with other animals like zebras and gazelles).
The Ngorongoro Crater is a remarkable landscape feature and is the world's largest caldera. It is home to a great density of wildlife and several threatened species. The area is also essential to the deep evolutionary history of humanity, with early hominid footprints that date back 3.6 million years being found there (another excellent place in Africa to learn about early hominids is the Cradle of Humankind in South Africa). In the afternoon, we will drive back to Arusha, which marks the end of the tour.
