You will be picked up from Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport and dropped off at Under the Shade Safari Lodge. If time allows (depending on your arrival), you will have the option to do an Arusha city tour and visit the famous art gallery, the Cultural Heritage Museum, the local market and the Maasai market.

Day 2
Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Today, our safari adventure begins! After breakfast, we pick up from your lodge at 7:40 am and drive for 2 hours to Tarangire National Park. The park is well known for its large elephant herds and abundance of ancient baobab trees (the largest trees on the continent). From the open roof of the vehicle, we will experience the seasonal swamps, savannah and the Tarangire River. See wildlife ranging from a large variety of birds to giraffes, impalas, zebras, lions, leopards, elands, warthogs and elephants. The picnic site has a spectacular view. We will have our picnic lunch there and proceed with game viewing before continuing to Ngorongoro Marera Mountain View Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3
Karatu to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, we will set off for the Serengeti, traveling along a scenic yet bumpy road with an exciting game drive en route. As we journey through the crater highlands toward the vast Serengeti plains, the drive will take approximately 4-5 hours.
Weather permitting, we’ll pause for about 10 minutes at the Ngorongoro viewpoint to admire the breathtaking caldera before continuing. Along the way, we’ll enjoy a picnic lunch before entering the park for an afternoon game drive. After witnessing the stunning Serengeti sunset, we will head to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4

Today, we will dedicate the entire day to exploring the Serengeti. We’ll start early at sunrise with a full-day game drive, taking in the breathtaking landscapes while searching for the Big Five. Beyond its large mammals, the Serengeti is home to over 500 bird species, from the towering ostrich and the unique secretary bird of the open grasslands to the majestic black eagle soaring above the savannah.
As we continue our search for wildlife, we’ll soak in the beauty of this iconic park before returning to your accommodation at sunset for dinner and an overnight stay.
For an enhanced experience, you can opt for a hot-air balloon safari or a walking safari at an additional cost.

Day 5

Today, we will start our day early, setting off in the safari vehicle by 6 a.m. for a sunrise game drive, the best time to witness wildlife at its most active. We’ll pause at a scenic picnic site to enjoy breakfast in the heart of the bush before continuing our exploration of the Serengeti. Around noon, we’ll have lunch before departing for Ngorongoro, where we will arrive in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay at your accommodation in the Ngorongoro Highlands.

Day 6
Descend to Ngorongoro Crater

Today, after breakfast, you will embark on an early morning game drive, descending into the Ngorongoro Crater, home to an incredible variety of wildlife, including the rare black rhino. With the highest concentration of wildlife in the world, the crater features diverse landscapes such as rivers, swamps, a soda lake teeming with flamingos, forests, and open plains. The resident bull elephants here are known for their exceptionally large tusks, thanks to the mineral-rich volcanic soil and grasses. After an exciting five-hour game drive, you will head to your accommodation to relax and enjoy a delicious dinner.

Day 7
Drive to Lake Manyara National Park
Drive to Lake Manyara National Park
On your final day of safari, you can choose to start early or take a relaxed morning at the lodge before setting off. After breakfast, your guide will pick you up and drive you to Lake Manyara National Park, a small yet diverse park located 120km west of Arusha. The park is named after its shallow salt lake, which expands and contracts with the seasons, attracting thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species.
As you explore, you’ll encounter a variety of wildlife, including monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalos, and elephants. If you're lucky, you may even spot tree-climbing lions. The park’s stunning landscapes range from open grassy plains and primate-filled woodlands to towering baobab-dotted cliffs.
After a full-day game drive, you will return to Arusha, marking the end of your safari. If you're heading to Zanzibar, we recommend booking a flight from Kilimanjaro Airport no earlier than 7:40 pm.
