Day 1

Transfer to Sipi Falls

On this first day of your tour, your driver-guide will pick you up from the hotel/airport and transfer you to Jinja where you will explore the source of the world's longest river - River Nile. You may also opt to experience the thrill of white water rafting on the River Nile (optional activity). Thereafter you will have lunch enroute as you proceed to Sipi. Once in Sipi, you will check in to your pre-booked accommodation and settle in for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2

On day 2, you will rise to a convenient breakfast and then set out to explore Sipi Falls by taking a hike to view the three falls. You may also opt to abseil the falls (optional activity). Thereafter you will have lunch and transfer to Moroto town famously known for the stunning views of Mount Moroto. Once in Moroto, you will check in to your pre-booked accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

On day 3, you will start the day by visiting the Karamojong museum in Moroto town and thereafter, you will set out with packed lunch on a drive northwards to Kidepo Valley National Park and along the way, you will have a detour to visit the typical Karamojong homesteads and explore the way of life, culture and traditions of these incredible people. You will then proceed to Kidepo Valley National Park. Once in the Kidepo, you will check in to your safari lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

On this day, you will rise early for breakfast and thereafter head out in to the vast savannah of the park to explore the amazing wildlife that roam the plains. Kidepo is ranked as Africa's 3rd best national park. You will enjoy the incredible views of the landscape littered with hundreds of incredible wildlife species such as large herds of buffaloes, Elands, elephants, cheetahs and birds endemic to the region. You will return to the lodge for hot lunch and later in the cooler evening set out into the savannah once again to explore more of the Kidepo Valley National Park. And later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6

Game drive and boat cruise

Game drive and boat cruise

You will rise to an early morning breakfast at 6:00am to start your day. After breakfast, your driver-guide will take you on a game drive to view and learn about the incredible wildlife in the national park. During the game drive, you will have a chance to spot some of Africa’s Big Five – the lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants as well as other incredible wildlife species such as hyenas, hippos, warthogs, giraffes, lions and many more. Thereafter you may return to your lodge for lunch as you prepare for an afternoon boat cruise. The boat cruise will most likely take much of the afternoon, as you explore many more incredible wildlife and bird species. After the exciting boat ride, you will return to your lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 7

Transfer to Kibale National park

On this day, you will meet our driver-guide for/after a convenient breakfast and head out to the top of Murchison Falls. The top of the falls offers incredibly scenic views as you watch the roaring Nile river squeeze through a narrow gorge 7m wide and cascade 43m below. Thereafter you will set off on a transfer to yet another incredible national park, Kibale National Park – a primate haven. The drive may last 6-7 hours with stopovers along the way for convenience, refreshments and sighting of interesting features. Once at Kibale National Park, you will check in to your pre-booked accommodation at Chimpanzee Forest Lodge and settle in for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8

Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi Swamp walk

You will rise to the melodious chirping of the birds at dawn and head for an early breakfast to charge up for the day’s activities. After breakfast, you will then set out with your driver-guide to the briefing station for a quick briefing and thereafter embark on a trek in the dense tropical rainforest in search of the chimpanzees. The trek may last any where between 1-5 hours and you will have up to an hour with these majestic creatures once you locate them. After the chimpanzee tracking experience, you will return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch you will venture out into the local communities to explore the vibrant culture and livelihoods of the native people. You may also opt to visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary to explore more incredible primate and bird species. (Optional activity).

On this day, you will transfer from Kibale National Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda's second largest conservation area. Once in Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will check in to your safari lodge and settle for lunch and later in the evening, you will set out for a crater rim hike blended with a coffee farm tour and local community tour crowned with a picnic at the scenic top of twin crater lakes. You will then return to your safari lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

The morning game drive is conceivably the most ideal because the chances to see the beasts are high since they are just coming out of their hiding places, to go out and look for food. You will have an opportunity to sight see a variety of wildlife species including lions, leopards and elephants. You may return to the lodge for lunch or dine at nearby eatery as you prepare for an afternoon boat cruise. You will see some of the enchanting sites in your life: Baby elephants frolicking in the mud and water, waterbucks, Hippopotamus, buffaloes, and other marine creatures, parading on the slow-flowing water banks of the Kazinga channel, cooling off. By the way, the Kazinga channel has the highest concentration of hippos in the world! The boats have a top deck that allows you to climb up and have a broader view of the animals and the mesmerizing blue skies. After a thrilling day of wildlife sighting, you will return to your lodge by dusk and settle in for dinner and overnight stay.

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable and Batwa community visit

A fine breakfast will be served conveniently to allow you sleep in a little bit and rejuvenate ahead of your journey into realm of the mountain gorillas. You will meet with our driver-guide and embark on a driver further south into the mountainous terrain of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – home to more than half of the world’s population of the mountain gorillas. Once in Bwindi, you will check in to a pre-booked accommodation and settle in for a lunch course. After lunch, your driver-guide will lead you to the Batwa community to learn about an ancient society that once lived and co-existed with the mountain gorillas in the mighty Bwindi Impenetrable rainforest. You will learn interesting facts about their traditions, ways of life and how they have adapted to life away from the thick of the forest. You will then return to your lodge for dinner followed by overnight stay.

Day 12

Gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After an early breakfast between 6:00am and 7:30am, you will be provided with packed lunch and transferred to the Uganda Wildlife Authority station for briefing ahead of your trek. After the briefing, together with the ranger guides, you will embark on the gorilla trekking experience that lasts anywhere between 1-5 hours with 1 hour spent interacting, taking photos and videos of the majestic creatures once sighted.
Transfer to L. Bunyonyi: Thereafter, you will be guided back to the station to receive your gorilla trekking certificate and then transferred to Lake Bunyonyi, a prime destination for bird and scenery lovers. L. Bunyonyi is the deepest lake in Uganda offering spectacular views that can be best relished by taking a zipline across the lake. Once in Bunyonyi, you will check in your safari lodge and have the rest of the evening to rest and relax as you await a delicious dinner course followed by an overnight stay.

Day 13

On this last day of your 14 days Pearl of Africa safari, you will meet with our driver-guide for/after a convenient breakfast and thereafter check out as you prepare to start your journey back to Entebbe International Airport for your departing flight.
Depending on your flight departure time, you may have the opportunity for a brief city tour as well as visiting the local crafts markets in Kampala, the capital of Uganda or Entebbe city for a chance to buy some souvenir crafts to take with you. Your arrival at the airport will mark the end of your 14 day tour with us.
