Day 1

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park

The non-game-viewing travel time is 2 hours (160km/100mi).

We will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha at 8:00am and take you to Tarangire National Park. The park is famous for its diverse landscape, with nine different vegetation zones. It is particularly known for the abundance of ancient baobab trees, which are the largest trees on the continent, and the park's river is teeming with wildlife, including a variety of birds, lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, and antelopes, in addition to the largest concentration of elephants in the whole country. You will have the chance to observe the interaction between elephant families. The lunch area is fascinating, boasting an observatory with amazing views of the river and wildlife, offering a good chance of seeing a hunt while having your picnic. We will continue with a game drive in the afternoon before heading to the lodge around 5:00pm.

Ngorongoro Crater - Black Rhino Spot

The first glimpse of Ngorongoro Crater is likely to be unforgettable. From the crater rim, you will see a vast and intimate natural bowl stretching 19km (12mi) from one side to the other, making it one of Africa's most beautiful natural features. You will explore a rich, self-contained ecosystem protected by high crater walls inside the crater. Lions and hyenas hunt wildebeest and Grant's gazelle within sight of elephants and black rhinos. The day spent here will reveal a surprising variety of habitats, from the Lereal Forest and salty Lake Magadi to the plains that rise and fall gently across the valley floor.

Later in the evening, you will drive to the Serengeti for an overnight stay, eagerly anticipating tomorrow's big adventure. You will deepen your understanding of the Serengeti and its diverse wildlife with another full day immersed in its wild beauty.

Just keep your eyes peeled and enjoy the nature around you!
