Day 1

Our English-speaking guide will pick you up from your hotel in Moshi or Arusha and drive you to Materuni Village, home of the Chagga people.

During the journey, the guide will share insights about Chagga culture, village life and the environment. Once we arrive, you will register at the village office, from which you can view Mount Kilimanjaro's summit.

After taking in the breathtaking scenery at the 80m (262ft) high Materuni Waterfall, you will return to the village with your guide, where you will be served a traditional Chagga lunch. You will also have the chance to taste locally brewed banana beer.

Following lunch, you will take a coffee tour to learn how coffee is cultivated, dried, roasted and processed. The Chagga people will then invite you to help grind the coffee beans, an activity accompanied by traditional Chagga songs and dances—a fun and engaging way to learn about their culture!

At the end of this enriching day, we will drive you back to your hotel or the airport.
