Day 1

Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

Drive in the early morning at 4 am from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park. Arrive at Mikumi National Park gate for registration followed by a full-day game viewing. In the park, expect to see lion, zebra, elephant, gazelle, wildebeest, eland, giraffe, hartebeest, buffalo, more than 300 different species of birds, and packs of wild dogs which find their home here. The open horizon of the Mkata Floodplain accommodates abundant wildlife.

You will enjoy lunch inside the park at one of the beautiful restaurants. At 6 pm, after viewing the sunset, we will drive to Morogoro for an overnight stay at Camp Bastian Mikumi or Soweto Village Lodge.

Trekking Uluguru Mountain Choma Waterfalls – Dar es Salaam

After breakfast at 7 am, we will transfer to Morogoro town and start on the 2.5-hour hike to Morningside. From here, it is a 1-hour walk to Choma Waterfalls. At the waterfall, you can swim in the cool water. A packed lunch or African food can be served here. After the swim, we start walking back to meet our driver and return to Dar es Salaam.
