Day 1

Nairobi - Masai Mara National Reserve

You will be picked up from your hotel room or the airport in the morning and depart for Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya's famous game reserve. You'll stop briefly en route at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint to enjoy the stunning views of an enormous valley system said to be visible from outer space. You'll arrive in Masai Mara in time for lunch. After lunch, you will have an afternoon game drive which will allow spotting of the magnificent wildlife in the park. The reserve is known for providing excellent predator sightings thanks to its relatively large population of lions, cheetahs and leopards. Bordering Tanzania, the Mara is in the northern extension of Serengeti and forms a wildlife corridor between the two countries. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the camp.

After breakfast, you will leave the camp with a packed picnic lunch, ready for a full-day game drive up until the late afternoon. You will have a chance to see what this famous national reserve has to offer. When it comes to wildlife destinations, the Masai Mara is a spectacular haven. The action experienced here ensures every sense of your being is truly electrified. Once settled in your hotel, you will have a game drive until sunset. This reserve is known for the annual migration of wildebeest that takes place between the months of July to early October. However, the Masai Mara is wonderful all year round with all the resident animals. You will have the chance to see wildlife in their natural habitat and can take as many photos as you want. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the camp.

Exploring the Famous Masai Mara National Reserve

You will be taken on two game drives today, one in the morning before breakfast and the other in the late afternoon. Early mornings and late afternoons are considered the best time to spot animals as they are most active. To get some of the best game viewing of the day, an early start is needed to beat the heat of the sun. This is the time that the big cats are most active and can provide some of the most dramatic photography, thanks to the beautiful lighting. This is a bush experience that will surely create lifetime memories. An optional hot air balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost. You will return to the camp for a mouthwatering breakfast. Your guide will then take you to the nearby Maasai village where you will get a chance to see the Masai way of life (optional). You will return to the camp for lunch before setting out for an evening game drive. You will return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4

After breakfast, you will depart from the Mara through the Masai plains and the Mau escarpments into the floor of the Rift Valley. You'll arrive at the flamingo-fringed Lake Nakuru National Park in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. You will embark on a comprehensive game drive in this scenic park including visits to viewpoints that offer superb photo opportunities. Lake Nakuru is one of several Rift Valley lakes and its ecosystem supports a wide ecological diversity with flamingos (greater and lesser) and other water birds being the major attractions of the area. The ecosystem provides for about 56 different species of mammals including the white rhinos and buffaloes and a variety of terrestrial birds numbering nearly 450 species. Apart from the flamingos that Lake Nakuru is known for, the park also has a significant population of all the Big Five except the elephant. Black and white rhinos, hippos, waterbucks, Burchell’s zebras, and Thomson’s gazelles are all common here.

You will depart early in the morning after breakfast towards Amboseli National Park with lunch en route. Your guide will take you on an afternoon game drive. Amboseli is synonymous with two particular things majestic herds of elephants and glorious views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Located at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa, Amboseli National Park is one of the most popular parks in Kenya. One of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close. On a clear evening, you can catch a view of the magnificent Mount Kilimanjaro. Also to be found in the Amboseli are herds of wildebeests, buffaloes, gazelles and many other wildlife. Lions and cheetahs can also be seen here. There is also a chance to visit the local communities in their nearby villages. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the lodge.

Amboseli is the home to great herds of elephants and with the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, it is a favourite spot for photographers. Also to be found in the Amboseli are herds of wildebeest, buffaloes, gazelles and many other wildlife. Lions and cheetahs can also be seen here. During clear days, you may also view the Majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, which is the tallest mountain in Africa.
