Day 1

Transfer and Gorge Glass-Lift Experience

Your guide will pick you up in the early morning from Johannesburg and take you to the Panorama Route. You will stop along the way to stretch your legs, buy some refreshments and enjoy breakfast if you missed it at your hotel. After your stop, you will make your way to the Graskop Gorge glass lift with an absolute magical view of the Lowveld valley that stretches out over a vast forest land towards the Kruger National Park area. The glass lift takes you down into the mesmerizing world of the area’s indigenous rainforest, where you can go on a boardwalk walking trail and explore this natural treasure.

You will then head to the lodge situated on the Panorama Route (Graskop), where you will stay your first night. You will arrive in the afternoon, settle in and relax before you enjoy dinner at 18h00/19h00.

Day 2

Panorama Route and Canyon Boat Cruise

After breakfast, you will start the Panorama Route tour. First, you will visit the Pinnacle Rock lookout point, then the beautiful Lisbon Falls, the highest falls in the area. Next is Bourke’s Luck Potholes, with amazing natural rock formations created by the turbulent confluence of the Blyde and Treur Rivers. Lastly, you will visit the Three Rondavels, which has the most scenic view of the Blyde River Canyon and the dam below.

You will then head to your accommodation next to the Blyde River with the Drakensberg Mountains as the backdrop. Settle in and relax until your river safari boat cruise at 15h00. Enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Blyde River Nature Reserve while cruising down the canyon. See the second highest Tufa Waterfalls on earth, hippos, crocodiles, waterbirds and plains game. This is the perfect way to end your Panorama Route with views from inside the canyon.

Afterwards, you can relax until dinner is prepared and served by your guide around 19h00.

After a refreshing cup of coffee and breakfast, you will depart and make your way to the Elephant Sanctuary near Hazyview. At 09h00, you will go on a guided tour with a fully-trained elephant guide. You will have a full elephant introduction in the forest area and a tour of the sanctuary and stables. Enjoy a unique experience with the largest land animals on earth.

After your elephant tour, you will head to the iconic Kruger National Park. As soon as you enter, you will start to see some wildlife. Be especially on the lookout for rhinos, elephants, buffalos, and leopards during your first excursion through the park. Arrive at your accommodation in the afternoon, situated next to the beautiful Sabi River which attracts plenty of wildlife. Settle in and relax until your open-vehicle sunset game drive starts at 16h30. Afterwards, enjoy dinner prepared by your guide under African skies in the true safari way.

Bushwalk and Sunset Open-Vehicle Kruger Game Drive

Start this day bright and early in the true African way. Enjoy the beautiful African sunrise and get close to nature on foot by going on an adrenaline-packed bushwalk guided by armed rangers, starting around 05h00 (duration 3 to 4 hours).

Enjoy a tasty breakfast afterwards back at camp. Depart after breakfast and enjoy a midday game drive through Kruger National Park in a closed vehicle. On the way, you will stay the night at Berg & Dal Rest Camp, situated in the south of the park. Along the way, visit waterholes, riverbeds and lookout points. At 16h30, you will go on another exciting 3-hour open-vehicle sunset game drive in search of the numerous species of wildlife in the area. Afterwards, you can enjoy dinner prepared by your guide.

Please note the bushwalk can be substituted with a sunrise open-vehicle Kruger game drive. Otherwise, the bushwalk and sunset drive can be substituted with a full-day Kruger game drive (highly recommended).

Day 5

Kruger to Swaziland (Eswatini)

Kruger to Swaziland (Eswatini)

After breakfast, head to the gate to exit the Kruger National Park, a last opportunity to spot the animals that have eluded you. After you exit the park, you will make your way to the last remaining Royal Kingdom of Southern Africa – Swaziland (now called Eswatini). Enjoy the beautiful landscapes and countryside of Swaziland as you make your way to Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary.

After arriving at Mlilwane in the afternoon, you will have time to settle in and relax. During the afternoon, you can enjoy activities like visiting Malkerns Valley’s Swazi Candles’ vibrant, music-filled workshop and witnessing how they create the most stunning candles. Otherwise, enjoy Mlilwane’s many walking trails, an interwoven network of more than 10 trails. Between the grasslands, dams, mountains and forests, many animal species can be seen, including crocodiles, zebras, blue wildebeests, kudus, and many more. Enjoy dinner around 19h00.

Matenga Cultural Village Experience

After an early breakfast, you will make your way to the Mantenga Cultural Village, set against the scenic backdrop of Nyonyane Mountain. Here, you can visit the Matenga Waterfalls, enjoy a guided tour through the village and experience how the Swazi people used to live. Afterwards, you can witness a stunning Swazi dancing performance.

After your day at Matenga, you will head back to Mlilwane, where you can relax until dinner, which can be enjoyed around 18h30.

After a delicious breakfast, you will depart from Mlilwane and head towards the border. Before you exit Swaziland, you will make one last stop at Ngwenya Glass Village. Here, you can watch from a balcony how the Swazi people use broken pieces of glass and turn them into the most stunning ornaments.

After your Ngwenya glass stop, you will exit Swaziland through the Oshoek border post and enter South Africa. You will then make your way back to Johannesburg, where your safari will unfortunately come to an end.
