Day 1

After breakfast at your city hotel or residence, a safari briefing will follow. After the briefing, your safari adventure will begin as you depart by road driving across the equator from the Southern to the Northern Hemisphere. Proceed to the semi-arid region of the Samburu National Reserve. It is one of the lesser-known national parks, but is nevertheless teeming with life.
Situated alongside the Ewaso Nyiro River, there is plenty to attract wildlife from the surrounding savannah plains. The reserve is rich in wildlife with an abundance of rare Northern specialist species (also referred to as Samburu Special Five) such as the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and the Beisa oryx.
Arrive at the Ashnil Samburu Camp in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive. Later, return to the camp before sunset for dinner and overnight.

Day 2

Have breakfast and then enjoy a full day of extensive game drives at the Samburu National Reserve. Explore and traverse some of the world's most spectacular and exciting terrain. Later, return for dinner and overnight at the camp.
Otherwise, you can also opt for an early morning game drive and return to the camp for breakfast. Spend the rest of the morning at leisure or go on an optional visit to Samburu Cultural Village (USD 30 per person). Return for lunch at the camp. Take an afternoon game drive and return in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

After breakfast, you will drive to Ol Pejeta Sanctuary to arrive at Sweetwaters Serena Camp for lunch. Go on an afternoon game drive. The combination of amazing wildlife and stunning views across the open plains of Ol Pejeta guarantees an unforgettable safari experience.
You will have a chance to visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a charming haven for orphaned chimps and the specially protected and fenced refuge of the black rhino with its stunning 40 specimens. Enjoy a game drive in the park where you can see reticulated giraffe, African elephant, Cape buffalo, warthog, waterbuck, Jackson's hartebeest, lion, cheetah, leopard, striped hyena, Thomson’s gazelle and impala. Over 500 species of birds have been recorded including the ostrich.
Later, return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 4

After breakfast, you will explore the exotic sanctuary with early morning and afternoon game drives or leave the camp with a picnic lunch for a whole day of game drives.
An optional nature walk safari and night game drive can be organized at an extra cost. This park provides a rare opportunity to come closer to the Northern white rhino in the sanctuary (extra cost). A wide variety of bird species are also found in the conservancy. Return for dinner and overnight.

Day 5

Have breakfast, then exit the camp with an en-route game drive back to Nairobi where you will be dropped off at the airport or at the hotel.
These optional activities in Nairobi can be arranged at an extra cost:
- A visit to the Giraffe Centre. You will have the chance to interact with the majestic Rothschild's giraffes in a unique and up-close encounter.
- Have dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant - ideal for meat lovers.
