Arrival in Kigali

You will be picked up at Kigali International Airport and taken to Chez Lando Hotel, where you will stay overnight. Spend the evening relaxing at the hotel. If you are interested in experiencing Kigali's nightlife, we can arrange transportation and provide a guide for you. Alternatively, you can choose to unwind and rest to recover from your jetlag.

Kigali to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, check out of the hotel for a city tour of Kigali. One of the main sites you will visit is the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center, where you can view a photographic sequence of events before, during, and after the 1994 genocide. If time allows, you will also visit a local crafts center before departing for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda, which is approximately a 4-hour drive. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge in Bwindi.

Gorilla Trekking

The day you have been eagerly anticipating has finally arrived! Start your morning with an early breakfast. Remember to grab your packed lunch, prepared with an African touch, before heading to the trek's starting point.

Upon arrival, you will receive a briefing on the do's and don'ts of gorilla trekking. Then, you will set off into the impenetrable forest for an unforgettable adventure. This experience can last anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on how quickly the gorillas move through the forest in search of food. Once you find the gorilla family, you will have 1 hour to enjoy their company.

After the trek, you can either return to your lodge to freshen up or head directly to a Batwa (Pygmy) village for a cultural experience, available at an extra cost. There, you will learn about the traditional ways of life of the Batwa people, who once inhabited the now-protected Bwindi Forest. The Batwa trail option is an additional $50 per person.
