Day 1

Arrival and Drive to Tarangire National Park

Arrival and Drive to Tarangire National Park

Early in the morning, approximately at 5:00 am (the exact time varies based on your hotel's location), you will be collected from your hotel and transferred to Zanzibar Airport. Departure from Zanzibar is scheduled for 8:00 am, with an estimated arrival in Arusha around 9:00 am. Upon arrival, you'll be picked up from the airport and transferred to Tarangire for a safari adventure. Tarangire offers a unique spectacle, where elephants amble across the plains like cattle and the air resonates with the roars of lions and the barks of zebras. During the dry season, Tarangire hosts what's considered the world's largest elephant gathering. This, combined with the park's magnificent baobabs, termite mounds, grassy savannah plains, and expansive swamps, makes it an enticing destination. You'll enjoy a safari until 5:00 pm, followed by a drive to the lodge for your overnight stay.

Ngorongoro Crater Visit

Enjoy breakfast around 6:00 am, then set off for Ngorongoro Crater, embarking on an 8-hour park expedition. Ngorongoro Crater stands as one of the world's most incredible and renowned natural wonders. This expansive, unbroken, non-flooded caldera took shape when a colossal volcano erupted and subsequently collapsed approximately three million years ago. It shelters the highest concentration of large game in Africa, including the famed Big Five and numerous predators. A UNESCO World Heritage site, Ngorongoro is a must-see, a matchless marvel of nature. The enchantment of Ngorongoro commences as you peer over the edge, surveying a mist-shrouded forest below. Descending leads you to a vast plain brimming with wildlife. The crater's walls soar from 400 to 610 meters above the floor, while its base spans 264 square kilometers, with a diameter of 19 km. The original volcano's height was estimated at 4,500 to 5,800 meters.

Visit the Hadzabe People and Return to Zanzibar

Visit the Hadzabe People and Return to Zanzibar

At the crack of dawn, set out for Lake Eyasi, where you'll encounter the renowned Hadzabe people, the last hunter-gatherer community in Tanzania. The Hadzabe's territory encompasses Lake Eyasi, adjacent to Serengeti plains and in the shadow of the Ngorongoro Crater. The Hadzabe culture is on the brink of fading away, and their legacy is a ticking clock. Don't miss this opportunity to engage with the Hadzabe before their traditional practices, like hill-climbing with bows and arrows to hunt baboons, become history. Immerse yourself in the company of the Hadzabe, observing their timeless way of life and their harmony with nature. This interaction allows you to connect with the group members, gaining insights into their existence, hunting techniques, food preparation, and cultural traditions. After your Hadza visit, head back to the airport for a 4:30 pm flight to Zanzibar. Upon landing in Zanzibar, you'll be transported to your hotel.
