Day 1

Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park

Today, you will have a full day of game viewing at Serengeti National Park with a packed lunch in the vehicle. We will follow the Kopjes Circuit, taking an anti-clockwise route around the Maasai Kopjes, an area known to attract lions and some formidably large cobras. Kopjes are weathered granite outcrops scattered around the plains, most of which are miniature ecosystems. They provide surrounding wildlife with shade and drinking water in pools left in the rock following the rains. The kopjes is a particularly good location for spotting wildlife throughout the Dry season - you may even see lions there.

Main Destination:
Southern Serengeti National Park
Best Time To Visit January to February and June to October (Different areas are best at different times)
High Season July to March (The Seronera area is crowded)
Best Weather June to October (Little to no rainfall)

After breakfast, collect your packed lunch for a full-day game drive at Serengeti. Serengeti shall never die! The Central zone is an endless plain with savannah grassland, providing a wide area to graze throughout the year for wildebeest, zebra, Coke's hartebeest, waterbuck, Grant's and Thomson's gazelle, and impala. The Central Serengeti (Seronera) is called “Siringit” by the Maasai, meaning the land of endless plains.

Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, collect a packed lunch and drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, well known as a highly successful sanctuary for the endangered black rhino. Strategically, the Ngorongoro Crater is often referred to as the 8th Wonder of the World. This large caldera hosts the most unique ecosystem on earth, with 20,000 large grazing mammals and the largest concentration of predators, playing a key role in maintaining the ecological balance.

Your experience will start by descending 2,000 feet (over 600 meters) to the floor of the crater to explore the forest areas inhabited by monkeys and elephants. At the lake area, you may see the flamingos and the open savannah, where many predators hunt. Later on, drive to Embalakai Luxury camp in Ngorongoro on a full-board basis.
