Day 1

This morning your driver will be ready to receive you and brief you before you transfer to Kibale Forest National Park through Uganda’s rural areas and will be rewarded with stunning views as you pass small villages and local markets. You will arrive at the lodge by mid or late afternoon to spend 2 nights. The accommodation is a small safari style camp in the lush surroundings of Kibale Forest, with its southern edge joining Queen Elizabeth National Park. Kibale Forest helps make up a 180 km long corridor for Africa’s wildlife and is home to some wonderful creatures including the astonishing 13 species of primates. You will be amazed by sightings of red, black and white colobus monkeys plus a number of bird species and butterflies.

Day 2

Chimpanzee Trekking – Bigodi Swamp Walk

Today the Forest opens its doors for a chimp tracking experience. After a pre- tracking briefing at walking distance from your accommodation, you will start the hike adventure into the forest. Follow the footsteps of a large habituated family of chimpanzees, with over 120 individuals that have made Kibale one of the best locations in Africa for chimp viewing. Your guide will explain more about the forest and its inhabitants, including other primates and birds. Upon sighting the chimpanzees, you will have an hour with them so as they continue their daily routine, growling, grooming, feeding and taking care of young ones. In the afternoon, you will transfer to Bigodi Village for a community walk that will bring you closer to the local tribe that lives in this area. Accompanied by a local guide who can tell you everything about the traditional customs and lifestyle of the people in this part of Uganda. Overnight again at Kibale Forest Camp.

Day 3

After breakfast, you will head vis the crater lakes area to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will spend 2 nights. You will cross the equator as the road passes through the Park. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a game drive in the Park. Your accommodation is located in the heart of Queen Elizabeth National Park and was built along ecological principals. Its unique setting attracts animals in and aroud the camp. The rooms are made from a combination of canvas and local materials to ensure the best views on the seasonal Kamera River, teaming with the wildlife.

Queen Elizabeth National Park’s diverse eco-system of grassy plains, tropical forests, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is home to an incredible abundance of wildlife. Have an early morning doing lion tracking activities alongside the researchers who will provide you with the depth information about lions and the surrounding. Here you will enjoy an opportunity to view the massive Rwenzori as a backdrop, which provides an excellent chance to spot more lions as well as leopards, giant forest hogs, Cape buffalo, elephants, defassa waterbucks, Uganda kobs and topis.

After lunch, have a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of hippos and the launch/cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous, with well over 550 resident species. You will rest at the lodge in the evening.

Have breakfast and transfer to Ishasha Sector, which is located in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. A sector well known for tree climbing lions and other mammals. On arrival, you will have lunch and later an afternoon game drive to see these tree climbing lions and other mammals in this part of the park. You will see these lions resting and playing up on the big fig trees. From up there, they spy on the antelopes that graze down so that they jump on them and feast on them. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6

This day will start with an early breakfast at the lodge, after which you will transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Bwindi is located in South Western Uganda at the junction of many thick rain forests. This park offers the best mountain gorilla tracking experience in East Africa. Have lunch and an afternoon visit to the batwa people in this community. You will also get chance to interact with these local people and learn how they live their lives. At the end of the day, you will return to the lodge for overnight.

Day 7

Gorrilla Tracking Experience

Gorrilla Tracking Experience

After an early breakfast depart to the starting point for briefing about your gorilla trekking adventure after which you will be led by experienced gorilla trackers on the slopes of the volcanoes. You will start from the site where the gorillas were encountered the day before and from here the gorilla tracking begins. Although the hike can be physically demanding, the anticipation of the exciting experience ahead is amazing, and the beauty of the gorilla forest and its inhabitants are fascinating. It is a humbling experience to stand just meters from man’s distant cousins as they eat rest, play and bond with their young ones. After spending some time with these amazing primates, you will return to the lodge where you will enjoy dinner before getting a good night’s rest.

Don’t forget to carry your rain gear, packed lunch, plenty of water, gloves, hat, and water proof bag for protection of your camera in case of rain.

Following your breakfast, your driver will transfer you from Lake Bunyonyi to Lake Mburo National Park. This park is the smallest park in the country but very rich with its habitants. It is also a home to the highest number of Zebras in Uganda. When you reach the park, you will have lunch and an afternoon game drive in the park. The game viewing guarantees you amazing sights of the flora and fauna alongside the wildlife. Return to the lodge after the game drive for dinner and overnight.
