Meet your driver guide and depart to Udzungwa Mountain, hot lunch in Morogoro, then continue your journey to Udzungwa which takes approximate 7hrs. Check in at Udzungwa Forest Tented Camp

Udzungwa Forest Tented Camp (also known as Hondo Hondo) is situated on the border of the beautiful Udzungwa Mountains National Park. The large grassy field is right on the border of the pristine rainforest and offers excellent views of the forest canopy, in which there are several species of monkey, including the endemic Udzungwa Red Colobus, the remarkable Sanje Crested Mangebey, and the Black and White Colobus. A number of different hornbill species fly in over the forest edge and settle in trees along the borders.

Day 2

Hiking in Udzungwa Mountain

Hiking in Udzungwa Mountain

After breakfast, Start hike Udzungwa Mountain via Sanje route. You will explore the forest and habitants for the slope. Reach the peak, relax at the top then later descend to the Sanje pool where you will get have your picnic lunch to swim at the pool. Return to the Camp for Dinner and overnight.

Udzungwa Mountains National Park is a forested area that is home to several species of primates, including the rare Iringa red colobus and the Sange crested mangabey monkey. There are many hiking trails in Udzungwa Mountains National Park that wind through various sections of the park. The most popular route is the half-day ramble to Sanje Waterfall. Mountain climbing is a popular activity that draws many visitors. Climbers can follow the trail up to Mwanihana Peak, the second highest point in the park or Luhombero Peak, the most challenging trail.

Leisure at the Camp

Day at leisure at the Camp, relaxation after the hiking day. On this day you can be able to arrange some other activities if you wish to do e.g you can visit sugarcane plantation, rice plantation, ride a bicycle to the village, or village tour. Meals and overnight at Udzungwa Forest Tented Camp.

Day 4

Mikumi National Park

After breakfast drive to Mikumi National Park which takes 2hours with packed lunch. Afternoon game drive, check in at Tan Swiss Lodge for dinner and overnight.

The Tan-Swiss Lodge is located on the main Morogoro – Iringa road just 2 km west of Mikumi National Park. It offers affordable comfortable accommodation with king-sized beds and en-suite facilities, all with private terraces. The restaurant with its colorful murals serves a wide variety of delicious meals to suit all tastes. The hotel is set in pleasant gardens. It has a charm all of its own and the owner is a very welcoming host.

Mikumi National Park abuts the northern border of Africa's biggest game reserve - the Selous – and is transected by the surfaced road between Dar es Salaam and Iringa. It is thus the most accessible part of a 75,000 square km (47,000 square mile) tract of wilderness that stretches east almost as far as the Indian Ocean. The open horizons and abundant wildlife of the Mkata Floodplain, the popular centre piece of Mikumi, draw frequent comparisons to the more famous Serengeti Plains.
