Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

Begin your journey with a hearty breakfast in Dar es Salaam before boarding the 7:30 am Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) train to Morogoro, a comfortable and scenic ride through Tanzania’s picturesque landscapes. Upon arrival in Morogoro, you will be greeted by a transfer vehicle that will take you to Mikumi National Park. Once there, you’ll shift to an open-sided safari vehicle, perfectly designed for panoramic game viewing.

Embark on an exhilarating game drive where you’ll encounter Mikumi’s incredible wildlife. Spot majestic lions lounging under the shade, towering giraffes, herds of elephants, and swift wildebeests traversing the plains. Look out for elands, hartebeests, zebras, and buffaloes, along with the elusive wild dogs and a vibrant array of bird species that soar above. As the sun sets over the savannah, retire to the serene comfort of Camp Bastian Lodge, where the sounds of the wilderness will lull you to sleep after an unforgettable day.

Mikumi National Park

After breakfast, we'll proceed with a full-day game drive in Mikumi National Park. Here, you will see all species of animals and birds. Due to the savannah plains, animals at Mikumi are easily accessed. Later, we return to Camp Bastian Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Mikumi Np to Udzungwa Mountains National Park

After breakfast, depart for a scenic drive toward Udzungwa Mountains National Park for an exciting day hike to the spectacular Sanje Waterfalls. Known as the "Galapagos of Africa," the Udzungwa Mountains boast rich biodiversity and significant cultural and historical sites, including Magombereka Cave, Bokela, Mwanaruvele Cave, Ndundulu, and the mystical Nyumbanitu Mountains.

Enjoy a light game drive en route, arriving at Udzungwa in time for lunch. In the afternoon, immerse yourself in the lush tropical rainforest, where you’ll trek through dense foliage, marvel at unique plant species, and listen to the enchanting sounds of the forest as you ascend to the breathtaking Sanje Falls. After an adventurous day, relax with dinner and an overnight stay at Udzungwa Twiga Hotel.

Udzungwa Mountains National Park to Dar es Salaam

After breakfast, begin your drive back to Morogoro to catch the afternoon or evening SGR train to Dar es Salaam. Along the journey, enjoy the scenic views of the vast Kilombero sugar cane plantations and the surrounding landscapes. There may also be opportunities to make brief stops along the way, allowing you to stretch, take in the sights, and capture memorable moments before continuing your journey.
