Today, the driver-guide will pick you up from Arusha with picnic lunch boxes and hold a quick briefing before you depart to Lake Manyara National Park entrée gate. Upon arrival at the gate, you will patiently wait for the permit formalities to be issued and registrations.
Once the permits are sorted, get ready to explore one of the smaller but most scenic parks – Lake Manyara National Park. The spectacular alkaline Lake Manyara forms the center point of this small and very beautiful park with surprisingly diverse fauna and flora. A circuit drive through the park passes through forest, wetlands, grassy plains, and acacia forests, offering views of different animals and multitudes of birds. The shallow Hippo Pool offers excellent opportunities for hippo sightings and you will have a spectacular view of the Rift Valley Escarpment. Late afternoon, you will drive to the lodge at Karatu Town for evening leisure, dinner, and an overnight stay.

This collapsed volcano is one of Tanzania’s most visited destinations, and it’s certainly not hard to see why. One of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders, the crater is home to the highest concentration of wildlife in Africa and is brimming with elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos, and even the rare black rhinos.
