Day 1

Journey to Serengeti National Park

Journey to Serengeti National Park

Early in the morning after breakfast, our driver-guide will take you to Serengeti National Park. It is one of the largest national parks in the world, covering an area of more than 14,000 square kilometers and home to the Big Five (rhino, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and lion).

"Endless plains" is the meaning of the Maasai term that gave rise to the name Serengeti. The park is home to an estimated 3 million large game species, including over 2,500 lions, 1.2 million wildebeest, and over 200,000 zebras, despite population fluctuations. You have the chance to observe giraffes, baboons, colobus monkeys, gazelles, antelopes, crocodiles, hippos, waterbucks, hartebeests, and more. More than 500 bird species, including ostriches, vultures, martial eagles, kori bustards, crowned cranes, and secretary birds, call this huge and diverse park home. After the 2-hour drive, enjoy lunch and an afternoon game drive through the vast plains. Seronera Campsite is the location for dinner and sleep.

Before entering the crater, you will first enjoy the breathtaking views from the crater rim. You can observe elephants, lions, buffalo, zebras, and many more kinds of creatures and birds. We'll have a picnic lunch with a view of the hippo pool. Any time of year, the Ngorongoro Crater is stunning and teeming with animals, offering a fascinating experience.
