Early in the morning after breakfast, our driver-guide will take you to Serengeti National Park. It is one of the largest national parks in the world, covering an area of more than 14,000 square kilometers and home to the Big Five (rhino, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and lion).
"Endless plains" is the meaning of the Maasai term that gave rise to the name Serengeti. The park is home to an estimated 3 million large game species, including over 2,500 lions, 1.2 million wildebeest, and over 200,000 zebras, despite population fluctuations. You have the chance to observe giraffes, baboons, colobus monkeys, gazelles, antelopes, crocodiles, hippos, waterbucks, hartebeests, and more. More than 500 bird species, including ostriches, vultures, martial eagles, kori bustards, crowned cranes, and secretary birds, call this huge and diverse park home. After the 2-hour drive, enjoy lunch and an afternoon game drive through the vast plains. Seronera Campsite is the location for dinner and sleep.
