Day 1

Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

Early in the morning, our driver will pick you up from Dar es Salaam from your hotel and start a safari to Mikumi National Park. The trip will take approximately 5 hours to arrive at Mikumi National Park.

You can see zebras, lions, wild dogs, pythons, hartebeest, wildebeest, elephants, impalas, warthogs, elands, and other antelopes. Several observation towers enable you to overview the park in its entirety. Mikumi National Park is mostly miombo woodland with gently rolling hills. Later, you'll return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2

In the morning after breakfast, you will leave for the full game drive with a packed lunch. Animals commonly found here include lions, elands, hartebeests, buffalos, wildebeests, giraffes, zebras, and elephants. Wild dogs can be seen in packs here. The open horizons and abundant wildlife of the Mkata Floodplain, the popular centerpiece of Mikumi, draw frequent comparisons to the more famous Serengeti Plains. After the game drive, you will depart to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3

Mikumi National Park to Dar es Salaam

Mikumi National Park to Dar es Salaam

After breakfast, you will start the day with a cultural visit to a local Maasai village in Mikumi. If time allows, you’ll pass by the local women’s market. The Maasai are a popular traditional community in Tanzania and Kenya. This trip is optional so those rushing to make the journey back to Zanzibar can opt out of this cultural visit. Kindly let us know during the booking. Afterward, you will start your journey back to Dar-es-Salaam. You will arrive back in Dar es Salaam before dark where you will be dropped off at the hotel of your choice.
