2 travelers on Start dateMateruni waterfall & Coffee experience
Today you will be picked from your Arusha Hotel to the destination of Materuni waterfalls.
A tour of Materuni Village and Waterfalls is a good way to spend a day away from the bustle of Moshi town life. The walk to Materuni Waterfall offers a glimpse into the nature of Tanzania while giving you a bit of a work-out to either prepare your body for the forthcoming Safari.
The tour starts in the coffee plantations of the local Chagga people, where the villagers will demonstrate some of the processes involved in coffee farming and handling and give you a chance to participate in preparing the coffee beans and making your own coffee. The hike to the base of the Waterfall can be demanding and hiking boots are recommended. As this trip is so close to Moshi town it is ideal for those people with limited time but who would still like to see some of the nature and beauty that this region of Tanzania has to offer.

Only a few other national parks in Tanzania give you such an opportunity and it is something that should not be missed. Lunch will be taken at a picnic place and in the afternoon, you will continue your tour in the safari vehicle through the Arusha National Park.

Tarangire National Park
Today we set out early heading south to stunning Tarangire National Park. We arrive at picnic for lunch by noon, in time for a pleasant lunch. Your game-drive will reveal all the wonders of Tarangire, a National Park often referred to as the ‘Elephant Playground’. Herds of up to 300 of these mighty mammals are sometimes seen in the park.
Tarangire in the dry season easily rivals it for animal densities. As well as the herds of elephant, Tarangire is home to buffalo, lion, wildebeest, zebra and gazelle while gerenuk and fringe-eared oryx are ‘local specialties’. Lake Burungi’s marshy shores are the lure for these mammals and the waters attract many beautiful bird species, too. Look out for giant kingfishers, hoopoes and the delightfully-named white-bellied go-away bird. Tarangire is noted for its splendid baobab trees, rolling savannah and acacia woodland. At the end of an inspiring afternoon amongst the wildlife, we retire to the campsite for an evening meal and some rest.
