You will be picked from Arusha at 8:00am and driven to Tarangire (a two-hour journey). Enjoy a full-day game drive in Tarangire National Park, where a large concentration of elephants can be seen year round. Tarangire is second only to the Serengeti ecosystem for its wildlife density. During the dry season, thousands of animals migrate from the Masai steppe to the Tarangire River looking for water. After lunch we’ll drive to Mto Wa Mbu, where you will have dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 2

Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park

After breakfast we will head towards Serengeti National Park via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa—Serengeti National Park, with its endless plains rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We are headed for the central area of the park, known as the Seronera, which is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park. The Seronera River provides a valuable water source to this section of the park and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. We’ll arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the Seronera campsite.

Main Destination:
Serengeti National Park
Best Time To Visit January to February and June to October (Different areas are best at different times)
High Season July to March (The Seronera area is crowded)
Best Weather June to October (Little to no rainfall)

Day 3

Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park

After breakfast you have the option of going on a hot air balloon safari over the Serengeti plains (available at a supplementary cost by arrangement). You’ll float silently above the awakening bush while spotting wildlife and enjoying the amazing African scenery.

Otherwise, you can go on a game drive along the Sogore River circuit, which loops into the plains south of the Seronera River. This is a good place to see lions, Thomson’s gazelle, topis, ostriches, and cheetahs. The visitor center close to the Seronera Lodge and the public campsites is well worth a visit after your morning game drive. This nicely designed center offers some interesting wildlife displays as well as a gift shop selling information leaflets and area maps. After lunch we’ll depart to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the Simba campsite.

Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, you will be driven to Ngorongoro for a game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles. Its magical setting and abundant wildlife never fail to enthrall visitors. The crater is just a small part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which offers a whole range of attractions for the adventurous traveler. This is the best place in Tanzania to see black rhinos, as well as black-maned lions. There are lots of colorful flamingoes and a variety of water birds. Other game you can find here include leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, members of the antelope family, and small mammals. In the late evening, you will be driven back to Arusha.

Main Destination:
