Lake Manyara National Park - Arusha
After an early breakfast, we'll set out on a journey to the nearby Lake Manyara National Park for a day of game driving. Your initial encounter in the park will likely be with a large troup of baboons. The park derives its name from the Euphorbia tirucalli plant, locally known as “Emanyara” in the Maasai language. The park's landscape features patches of yellow fever trees adorning the grassy lake shores.
The park's entrance is nestled in a unique environment, encompassing a groundwater forest that provides a contrast to the typical savannah-dominated parks. The lush greenery of the groundwater forest, with its towering trees, tree-climbing lions, and a soda lake teeming with thousands of pink-hued flamingos and large water birds, creates an unforgettable safari experience.
We’ll eat a packed lunch at the designated picnic site. In the late afternoon, we'll make our way back to Arusha, ensuring you have ample time for your return flight home or a connecting flight to Zanzibar.
