Day 1

On this day around 5:00 am our guide will pick you up from your hotel in Zanzibar for transfer to Zanzibar Airport. 7:00 am Flight departure from Zanzibar to Mafia Island. An hour flight to Mafia Island Airport then transfer to The Whale Shark Base after arrival. At around 8:30 am you will have a short briefing with tea or coffee. Start the Whale Shark excursion with our local guide who is an experienced local fisherman. Around lunchtime return to the base after the Whale Shark experience for lunch (Vegetarian options available upon prior request). After lunch you will choose between a tour to see flying foxes or a city tour of Kilindoni.
3:00 pm Transfer to Mafia Island Airport for the return flight to Zanzibar.
4:00 pm: Flight departure from Mafia Island.
5:00 pm: Arrival at Zanzibar Airport. Transfer back to your hotel.

Timings are approximate and subject to change based on weather conditions and other factors.
