Leave Nairobi at 7.30am to Nanyuki town for lunch, taking about 4 hours. Proceed to Sirimon Gate, 1 hour, 2440m. From the gate follow the track as it winds uphill though the forest which becomes heath land after about 3 hrs. About 3½ hours from the gate the track veers right to Judmaier Camp, 3300m.

Judmier Camp/Shipton Camp
After breakfast, follow the track uphill, forking left at the junction. After one hour from Old Moses Camp, the track crosses Ontulili River. Go right contouring through the Moorland and crossing Liki North and continue uphill to Mackinders Valley from where there are panoramic views up the valley towards the main peaks. Dinner and overnight at Shipton Camp, 4200m.

Shiptons/Point Lenana/Lake Ellis
Leave at 3am up a steep stony quarry that cuts through a cliff clearing visible part towards lower Hall Tarns arriving Mount Kenya point Lenana (6km from Shipton Camp) at 6:30am, taking about 3hrs. After the sunrise, descend to Mintos hut (6km), 2hrs, for breakfast and 12km, 3-4hrs further down to lake Ellis Camp, 3,400m, for dinner and overnight at the Camp, B, LD.

Lake Ellis to Samburu
Descend 2hr, 15km to forest clearance to catch a 4×4 transfer vehicle to Samburu, arrive at Samburu National Reserve in time for lunch, and an afternoon game drive. The Samburu is one of the lesser-known Kenyan national parks but is nevertheless teeming with wildlife. Situated alongside the Ewaso Nyiro River, there is plenty here to attract animals from the surrounding savanna plains. The reserve is home to an abundance of rare northern species such as the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, and the beisa oryx also referred to as the “Samburu Special Five”.

Samburu National Reserve
Enjoy an early morning game drive in Samburu. The morning is the most ideal time for game viewing, and your guide will make certain to search for the elusive leopards and lions along the way. Return to your lodge for breakfast and then spend the remainder of the day at your leisure. In the evening, you will go on another game drive early evening in search of the abundant wildlife at Samburu. Alternatively, you can depart after breakfast with a picnic lunch and do a full-day game drive, returning to the camp later afternoon. You will encounter and learn more about the wildlife species roaming this reserve. On a typical game drive, you are bound to come across Leopards, Elephants, Lions, and Giraffe, among other wild species. After your evening game drive, you will return to your lodge for evening rest and dinner.

Samburu to Ol Pejeta Conservancy
After breakfast, depart from Samburu with a game drive en-route driving to Nanyuki. Arrive at the Comfort Garden O Pejeta in time for lunch and afternoon rest. Ol Pejeta is the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees. You will have an early evening game drive around the Ol Pejeta Conservancy returning to your camp in time for dinner.

Early morning game drive later returns to the Camp for your breakfast. Check out of the camp and head south for Nairobi where you will be dropped at the airport or your place of residence.
