Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam for Road Trip to Nyerere National Park, Boat Safari

At 6:00 am, you will be picked up from your hotel at Stone Town and transferred to the Zanzibar seaport.
7:00 am: Departure time from Zanzibar with Kilimanjaro Marine Fast Ferry to Dar es Salaam.
8:30 am: Estimate arrival time at Dar es Salaam Seaport, where you will meet and greet with driver-guide for the safari briefing and then drive to Nyerere Park. Picnic lunch.

You'll arrive for leisure and an evening boat safari. Around 3:30 pm, you'll proceed with a boat game drive in the great Rufiji River till sunset. You have a chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery with a lot of wild animals and many species of birds for about 2 hours till sunset.

3:00 pm: Evening boat safari along Rufiji River to explore the fauna and flora.
7:00 pm: Leisure, dinner, and overnight stay at Nyerere National Park.

You'll enjoy a stunning day for a game drive in Nyerere Park (formally Selous Game Reserves)
The park was formerly called “Selous Game Reserve,” and in 2019 it gained national park status. It is the largest national park in Africa. Covering an area of 30000 km2. This park’s history and sense of mystique add to its attractions. It was named after Fredrick Courtney Selous, a well-renowned explorer, and British Army Officer in the Royal Fusiliers. Selous was killed in combat along the Rufiji River, which flows through the park. Today, it takes its name from Julius Nyerere, the first president of Tanzania, widely viewed as the father of the modern nation-state.

Your sundowner, leisure, dinner, and overnight stay will be at Nyerere National Park.

Walking Safari & Game Drive in Nyerere National Park

6:00 am: You will be picked up for an early morning walking safari with an armed ranger,
9:00 am: You'll return to the camp for breakfast and leisure with the option to relax at camp or continue with a game drive.
2:00 pm: You'll depart at noon with a game drive in Nyerere Park.

It is one of the largest fauna reserves in the world, covering 50,000 km2. The reserve is bigger than Switzerland, three times bigger than Kruger National Park, and twice as big as Serengeti. The reserve has a higher density and diversity of species than any other Miombo woodland area in Africa.

Road Transfer to Dar es Salaam for Boat to Zanzibar Island

7:00 am: You'll enjoy a farewell breakfast at the camp.
8:00 am: You will be driven from Nyerere National Park to Dar es Salaam Airport or Seaport for return to Kilimanjaro Fast Ferry.
4:00 pm: Your departure time from Dar es Salaam Seaport to Zanzibar.
5:30 pm: Arrival at Zanzibar Seaport for transfer to your hotel or airport for connection with an international flight back home.
