Day 1
Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park
Today, we set out early, picking you up from your hotel in Arusha and heading south to the stunning Tarangire National Park. We arrive at our picnic site by noon, allowing time for a pleasant lunch. In the afternoon, we embark on a game drive that will reveal all the wonders of Tarangire, often called the "elephant playground." It is common to see herds of up to 300 of these magnificent mammals in the park!
During the Dry season, Tarangire rivals other parks in terms of animal densities. In addition to the elephant herds, the park is home to buffalo, lions, wildebeests and zebras. The marshy shores of Lake Burunge attract these mammals and many beautiful bird species. Watch for giant kingfishers, hoopoes and the delightfully named white-bellied go-away bird. Tarangire is also noted for its magnificent baobab trees, rolling savannahs and acacia woodlands.
After an inspiring afternoon among the wildlife, we will return to the campsite for dinner and some well-deserved rest.

Day 2
Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater
Take a moment to appreciate Ngorongoro Crater, often deemed one of the world's wonders. Your early morning game drive will reveal why it holds such a title.
First, the crater features the largest volcanic caldera in the world, characterized by breathtaking landscapes of grasslands, forests and swamps. Second, the permanent water sources on the crater floor support a resident population of over 25,000 large mammals. Here, you can encounter many of the animals that attract you to go on safari—elephants, lions, leopards, hyenas, jackals, wallowing hippos, waterbucks and baboons. The rare black rhino also finds refuge in this area.
The Maasai people coexist with wildlife. They graze their cattle in this region, designated a separate conservation area in 1956 and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978. This unique harmony between humans and wildlife makes Ngorongoro special in Tanzania, and your driver-guide will be happy to share insights about this remarkable coexistence.
