This day is for arrivals to the small town of Lushoto, This bustling town is the main centre in this region and set high up amongst the peaks which ensure a year round climate that is cool and refreshing. German colonialists in the 19th century were quick to notice the potential of the area and built the town. Wilhelmsthal as it was known at the time became a favourite holiday spot for officials from the German administration.
Lushoto has an excellent market, good amenities and a tourist information service. It can be reached on self-drive itineraries from Dar es Salaam (6 hours), Arusha / Kilimanjaro (5 hours) and the port of Tanga (3 hours). Having arrived at Lushoto you will be accommodated at Lawns Hotel for your relaxation and Overnight stay.

Irente View Point, Thereafter dropped at Lushoto bus Stand for your next destination
After taking your breakfast, you will begin the day by hiking from the hotel and walk through traditional Villages and Farmland. Take in the beautiful scenery and interact with the local people. At the Irente view point sit on the rock edge where you can feel the breeze and gaze down at the Mkomazi flood plains, the Maasai village and German sisal plantation about 1000m below. Included is a farm lunch which is a 15-minute walk to Irente Biodiversity reserve.
