Nairobi-Samburu National Reserve

Meet and greet services on arrival in the morning at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or pick up from your hotel at 0730hrs by our driver-guide. We depart and drive north through to the northern frontier district and on to Samburu Game Reserve. Afternoon game drive in this reserve famous for its exclusive game viewing. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Shamba Game lodge. Meal Plan: Lunch and Dinner.

Samburu National Reserve

W estart the new day with a game drive to look for lion, leopard, cheetah and whoever else might show up in the dawning light.

Following the path of the Ewaso Ngiro River, we’ll be on the lookout for elephant, buffalo, and some of the more entertaining wildlife like dik-dik, warthog and the olive baboon.

Samburu is also known as one of the two regions where conservationist Joy Adams raised Elsa the Lioness, later made famous in the book and movie, Born Free.

Here too, are the Samburu people, closely related to the Maasai, an indigenous, pastoral group, who have inhabited this region for eons.

As always on our safaris, be as active as you wish or relax at your safari accommodation.

Samburu National Reserve-Nairobi

We embark on early morning game drive on sunrise when predators are active and later return to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast depart Samburu National Reserve with the last picturesque of the reserve, we drive to bufallo spring for swimming and later depart to Nairobi arriving Nairobi in the afternoon. You will be dropped at either your hotel or airport to connect your home bound flight depending on the arrangements where the safari ends. Meal Plan: Breakfast and Lunch.
