Day 1
Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park
Following breakfast, you will be collected from your hotel or the airport for a scenic 2-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, renowned for hosting the highest concentration of elephants in East Africa. Among them are the impressive bush elephants the largest land animals since the era of dinosaurs. The park is centered around the Tarangire River circuit, where formidable predators lurk, awaiting the herbivores as they approach for water and grazing along the river channel.
Originally established by German and later British hunters as a prominent hunting ground for big cats like lions, leopards, and cheetahs, the park now stands as a testament to conservation efforts. A pause for a delightful picnic lunch is scheduled, after which you'll embark on thrilling game drives across various sections of Tarangire National Park. Expect to encounter diverse wildlife, including wildebeest, gazelles, antelopes, ostriches, giraffes, buffaloes, and a myriad of other mammals and birds.
