Welcome to Tanzania! You will be picked up from the airport by a Salvation Safari representative and driven to your accommodation in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you will hopefully have time to relax and prepare for the adventure of a lifetime!

Day 2

Tarangire National Park

Your Salvation Safari guide will pick you up after breakfast, starting your day with a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park. The journey takes about two and a half hours on well-maintained roads. Named after the Tarangire River, this park is a vital water source for wildlife during the dry season. You'll witness elephant families gathering by the river, alongside giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests. Predators like lions and leopards roam the area, and Tarangire boasts more bird species than anywhere else on Earth. You'll marvel at ancient baobab trees, some believed to be over a thousand years old. You will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before heading to your campsite in Mto wa Mbu after the game drive.

Serengeti National Park

Following breakfast, you will embark on a journey to the cooler realms of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You'll have the chance to witness the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater before continuing your transit through the conservation area and entering the Serengeti from the south.

The Serengeti is a truly awe-inspiring place, renowned for its expansive open grasslands that offer exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities. While it teems with diverse wildlife, it's most famous for its annual great migration, where vast herds of wildebeest, zebras, and antelope constantly seek fresh grazing in a cyclical pattern. The migration can be observed in any given month, provided you know where to look. Depending on the time of your visit, you might witness one of the "Seven Wonders of the Natural World."

You'll enjoy a picnic lunch and spend the night at a campsite in the heart of the Serengeti bush, creating a memorable wilderness experience.

Day 5

Ngorongoro Crater

Following breakfast, your journey continues, leading you toward the remarkable Ngorongoro Crater, with hopes for more fascinating encounters along the way.

Ngorongoro Crater, concealed by towering volcanic walls, unveils a pristine wilderness, featuring sweeping savannah, pockets of acacia woodland, shimmering lakes, and lush swamps. This geological marvel was formed when a massive volcano erupted and collapsed upon itself some two to three million years ago.

The descent into the Crater is an adventure in its own right, and as you reach the Crater floor, you'll be surrounded by vast herds of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and over 500 bird species. The Crater offers a prime opportunity to spot the endangered black rhino, occasionally visible in the open grasslands. After a full afternoon exploring the Crater's wonders, you'll drive to your campsite near Karatu to rest for the night.
