Named after the Tarangire River, this park is a vital water source for wildlife during the dry season. You'll witness elephant families gathering by the river, alongside giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests. Predators like lions and leopards roam the area, and Tarangire boasts more bird species than anywhere else on Earth. Following breakfast, your journey continues, leading you toward the remarkable Ngorongoro Crater, with hopes for more fascinating encounters along the way.
Ngorongoro Crater, concealed by towering volcanic walls, unveils a pristine wilderness, featuring sweeping savannah, pockets of acacia woodland, shimmering lakes, and lush swamps. This geological marvel was formed when a massive volcano erupted and collapsed upon itself some two to three million years ago.
The descent into the Crater is an adventure in its own right, and as you reach the Crater floor, you'll be surrounded by vast herds of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and over 500 bird species. The Crater offers a prime opportunity to spot the endangered black rhino, occasionally visible in the open grasslands.
