Gorilla trek – Lake Mutanda canoe tour
Following your breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing about the mountain gorilla trekking etiquettes. You will be later led by game rangers to the forested mount slopes to locate the Nyakagezi gorilla family as you spot other wildlife and distinctive flora. Locating the gorillas may last for 1 to 6hours after which you will enjoy a magic hour watching them go by their daily duties. Descend back for lunch before heading for a canoe on Lake Mutanda waters. You will have a 2 hours’ canoe on Lake Mutanda as you experience its beauty and silence while having a glance at a variety of birds and the eventide on Mutanda waters. Return to the lodge for dinner and a night stay.

Golden monkey trek – Batwa cultural experience
Wake-up to grab a cup of coffee and return to the park headquarters for a briefing about the golden monkey trekking dos and don’ts. The game rangers will lead you to the bamboo forested slopes to locate this endangered monkey specie. Locating a troop may last 30minutes to 4 hours after which you will enjoy an hour watching their social interactions, curious behaviors and their playfulness nature. Return to the lodge for lunch before meeting the former forest keepers. The Batwa guide will lead you to their ancient hunting grounds, hideouts and caves as he narrates how they lived in the forests for examples hunting skills, bee collecting, medicinal herbs and many more. This cultural trail will be concluded at a mystical cave known as the Garama caves where you will enjoy their cultural performances. Retire back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Lake Bunyonyi exploration
Punch your intestines with an early morning breakfast, check-out of Mgahinga National Park and proceed to go explore Uganda’s deepest lake and its islands. This is a 2 and a half hours drive arriving to check-in at a reserved lodge and have an early lunch. Proceed for a boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi’s waters while exploring its islands such as Akampene, Bwama, Bucuranuka, Kyahugye and many more all having historical myths attached to them. Lake Bunyonyi offers an opportunity for bird watching as you spot a variety of colorful feathered creatures while you appreciate the beauty of its surrounding. Return back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Wake-up to a hefty breakfast at your lakeside lodge, checkout to embark on your drive back to Kampala as you have your last breathtaking views of the lake and its surrounding. Along the way, you will traverse through eye-catching landscapes as you also reflect and relieve the memories of your safari as well as appreciating Uganda’s vibrant cultures and her natural marvels. Arrival in the city will be in the late afternoon to be dropped off at a hotel of your choice for relaxation or a direct drive to the airport according to your departure time.
